  1. In my house we always use peroxide. Put it on the end of a q-tip. This works pretty well. Be sure to be careful though and dont go too far.

  2. What sort of dog?  Most certainly you can and should clean them yourself.  Don't get water actually down IN the ear though.  It is simple and easy to do.  Just a washcloth and warm water will get all the dirt and wax out of the external ear.  To get in the cracks and crevices use a Q-tip, just make sure you don't poke the Q-tip down inside the ear.  If you notice any fluid coming out of the ear, if the ear is bright or deep pink in color or if the dog acts like it hurts while you are cleaning them, he most likely has an infection and you need to go to the vet to have it taken care of.

  3. mix 50/50 white vinegar and water and get some cotton balls dip the cotton and remove excess and clean the ears well, you can not hurt the dog with your finger and cotton. do this on a weekly bases.

  4. It's true, get a cotten swab and put water on it and get the "crud" out, that's also how when I was smaller my mom would clean my ears! : )

  5. The most common reason for dirty ears in younger dogs is just a simple Yeast Infection.  The best solution for this disorder is called Oticleans, a doggy ear wash, yet to get this you would need a prescription from your vet!

But there is a good chance that it is not a Yeast Infection, if you would like to try a generic dog ear wash, then just pick one up at your local pet supply store.  Read the instructions on the bottle and you should be all set!

I would still recommend taking your dog to the vet, just to be on the safe side! I hope it all works out for you!

  6. It is a very simple thing to do, I clean my dogs ears myself

All u need to buy is ear cleaning solution I usually get mine from the vet, once u have it pour it in his ear one at a time and grab a cotton ball and place it in the ear and grab his or her ear canal and start massaging it upwards towards the cotton ball so that it absorbs the fluid and dirt, and thats all to it.

and repeat the steps on the other ear.

  7. take a q-tip and maybe some rubbing alcohol or peroxide and just clean them a little. be sure not to go too deep though!!! if you don't feel confident enough about it though, i'd say just take himi to the vet..

  8. My vet's advice was mix equal parts (white vinegar and water )together. I  used  warm water so it was not a shock. Use a cotton  square using caution, Dip cotton square into mixture and wipe around inner ear and in the in canal. Then  gently rub the ear. The dog will shake his or her ears   .This has always worked for me! Good Luck P.S. Cotton Squares work much better than balls.
