Question:

My younger sister is acting weird and depressed?

All she's doing this summer is lying on her bed reading and watching reruns. I'm so sick of it. It's also strange because she used to be really fun, playing sports and inviting friends over and stuff. It's really annoying me because my parents make me cancel my plans to stay home with her. I've tried taking her to parties, playing happy music, buying her a new riding boots...nothing is working!

  1. its the stage.

    it'll vanish sooner or later.

try get her interested into new and exciting things.

  2. well, first if your sister is in her adolestant stage going through her puberty then maybe she is just wondering what's going on with the changes in her body... if she's over that stage, maybe something happened with her friends, and crush, or it could just be that she is in her period to think about who she is, and why she is here... the important thing is to talk with her, about everything, let her know that no matter what you are there for your sister, and that she can count on you. remember, she is your one and only sister in this world, so just give her a shoulder to lean on. :)

  3. How old is she? She may be trying to be emo or something (no offense) or something may be on her mind. My twin bro was acting all depressed and said he wanted to be 'emo' just because he saw this 'cool' girl doing it at our school.

Hope this helps x x u must b real worried dont worry she'll snap out of it

  4. how old is she? if she is depressed, there must be somthing up her mind.... take her to walks in parks or hills, and just try to let her express her thoughts so that you can get to know what is it with her. but dont ask directly.

  5. man she sounds deppressed.... that sucks for her. us teenage boys dont go through all that emotional c**p thank God. we get to enjoy growing up!!!! not a care in the world hahaha while girls slit their wrists (ew). hahaha

  6. you should try talking to her and asking her about her problems.

if she does have a problem you should help her.

    good luck.

  7. She's depressed.

Sorry that this is an inconvenience for your social life. Maybe you should regularly mention how her being depressed is keeping you at home. That should make it even better.

    :I

  8. Make her laugh and make her happy n act stupid around her so she can lugh @ u n w.e just make her happy bec theres something really wrong with her n she is sad she probly goot in a fight wit her freinds or sumthing jus try 2 make her feel better

  9. maybe she's, idk...depressed!

  10. somestimes all someone needs is space give her time im sure she will snap out of it

  11. Depression is a mental illness. If she really is depressed, she needs to get help from a psychiatrist. I knew someone who had it, and telling them to just "cheer up" doesn't work. They need any help and support that their family and friends can give them.

  12. I have two sisters and both of them, as well as myself, went through this lazy stage. They get over it. You just have to let her get over it herself, pushing her will just make her grouchy.

  13. My sister acts like that too. Sometimes you can't really do anything. Just be there for her. I tried talking to my sister about it, and she just changes the subject. I know though when I'm around her she acts a lot happier.

  14. I raised three girls, all of them turned out fine. But they do go through stages. Perhaps she's just growing up and these are some changes that everyone should get used to. You don't say her age, but if she's a teen, it's pretty normal. I'll say one thing, she's got a good sister who cares about her. Just give her time. But if something goes really different let your parents or someone else know.

  15. sounds like your sister may need to see a therapist, or be euthanized
