Question:

Myanmar Aid?

Well since Myanmar is taking lessons from FEMA, along with other problems, does anyone know any good relief funds to donate to? On yahoo's homepage there's a link at the top of the page with listed funds, but since nothing is being allowed in the country yet and we're not forcing in airdrops I don't know how much those organizations are going to help right now. I found this place at http://www.avaaz.org/en/ who claim to be in cooperation with the International Burmese Monks Organization. It seems that they might be able to help out more since they're giving directly to the monasteries over there who provide food and shelter. Anybody know more about this place or have any other ideas of how to help.

  1. Here's a link with some organizations working this.  If we really want to help the Burmese, we need to help them get regime change.

  2. If they don't want our help, let them Rot. We still haven't fixed New Orleans.

  3. Better wait until words from the U.N. are out. If you send it to that site , well anyone can create a site and say it is for the Burmese victims.

  4. It is a shame that their military government will not allow outside aid into their country.

Since electricity has been cut off in the country maybe they do not really know how bad the situation is.

If they are ignoring it they should be overthrown and a intelligent government be allowed to help those that need it!

As far as donations the site you mentioned is a reputable one!

  5. I am not even sure the aid going over now by the Red Cross is actually getting to the people who need it. Regional "Generals" are writing their names on the first aid packages and distributing them as they see fit. It a shame the Gov't won't open up and let TRUE CARING people in, not reporters and Self Servers. but People who are LEGIT!
