...to help out. What a disaster...and the Guv doesn't want help?!

I'm a hella good carpenter and would be happy to build new homes, voluntarily.

Anyone know who I should contact?

They won't let you.  If you haven't been following the news...they hate foreigners.  They just now let aid in the country.  Why don't you help your own country?  I hear Louisiana had a bad hurricane a few years back and are rebuilding.

I have to ditto the person above me. Gulfport Mississippi, and Bayou La Batre Alabama, and many parts of New Orleans are still a mess. Do a search on your church denomination and the name of a coastal town, and see who comes up. You call the church secretary, and ask her what the needs are. She knows the poor, the elderly, the marginalized.

I live in Thailand but Im American. I suggest you watch the latest Rambo movie (I think its on dvd now). It showcases what Myanmar is really like and you would have to be Rambo in order to venture into such a place. They don't exactly welcome foreigners with open arms. I would love to help too but going over there is suicide. I think the only way we can help is donate but even with that I bet majority of it will be used by the government for their own campaigns and propaganda. Myanmar has been a bad area for quite some time now.

As much as I love your good heart and kind soul dear friend ... you will be doing NO such thing. You won't get 2 inches inside the border before you are shot dead. Have you seen what they've been doing with supplies that we and others have been trying to get to the survivors. Yeah ... sad as it is darlin' ... it ain't happenin'.

I do love your unselfishness and perhaps if you are in a giving mood you can join a Habitat for Humanity crusade and build a home or two here in the U.S. for our own poor and hungry in "honor" of the victims of this tragedy. That way you'd be doing good for "our" own while feeling at peace that you could somehow make a difference for someone else.

You know I love ya ... but do not get ANY crazy ideas buddy. Or I'll be in CO in 10 seconds flat handcuffing you to a chair. Oh wait ... you might like that ... all right then I'll tie you to the bed ... Oh c**p ... NEVER MIND ... I apparently suck at the whole "non sexual" captivity deal! Psssh!

Right now the junta,who rules Myanmar,isn't letting anyone in.they let the us fly a plane through but i doubt they landed long enough to help clean so just watch the news.when they say that aid can come in,then start thinking about this
