i am 14 years old, and i'm thinking of starting a fun camp at my house. we basically do crafts, play in the sprinkler, eat snack, etc.

it is for 2 hours a day., five days a week

how much should i charge per week? what should the age group be? the crafts are like sock puppets, foam frames, etc.

gracias!

  1. well, i think you should look at how much you spend to get this camp going. then divide the cost among the total campers going. then add a profit of any amount you like. try to make the camp fee less then $10 so that it would be more appealing.

age group, you should find people of your age group so that it will be more fun. =]

umm, since you are 14 and i dont suppose you will do sock puppet and all. so perhaps, watch a movie, treasure hunt? then those who can complete the camp, can go to a 'prom' night that you guys can watch movie. nice ending.=]

yeah. its a cool idea to have a camp at your house coz i did it too.

    hope it helps.

PS: oh yeah. 2 hours a day is simply too short. have it longer at least 4 hours? 2 hours, you cant do much since camper will come late and all... yeah. and, if you are planning on all girls campers, perhaps you can have a competition on dancing? thats what i did. quite successful.=]

  2. you have to find like 2 or more people to help you with it. you can invite your little cousin's or baby sit for younger kids.  you should charge $4 an hour for every kid under 6 and $5 for every kid over 6. some times people tip you, so don't raise the price too high.

i don't  think it wold be called a camp, but more of a very active babysitting. always make sure your 1 parent is there to supervise you. and change the diapers of the little kids. i also think it should be more than 2 hours. 30 minutes for a projects, 1hour  of play time out side, 30 minutes for snack, and an extra 30 minutes for things like if they play in the sprinkeler, they need to dry off.

good luck. it's actually a great idea of what i wanted to do.
