Myron Rolle works with Pittsburgh Steelers in efforts to revive pro career-NFL News
Free agent safety, Myron Rolle, who has immense success in his academic life, is struggling to revive his career in the National Football League (NFL).
Rolle, currently on Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad, has rather exceptional inner strength and probably belief to keep him going in his aim of finding a place with a pro team.
Even though he has not achieved much success so far, he continues to show resilience, refusing to give up.
He knows while he is rather behind others on the football field, he is far ahead of them in academics, and the out-of-the-field options for him are far more than any other NFL player might have.
The notable point of his educational career success is his Rhodes scholarship that helped him earn a degree in Medical Anthropology from the premier academic institution, Oxford University, in England.
Some of the options he has in the fields other than football are that he can become a surgeon, take forward his voluntary organisation, which works on health, education and other issues, or press forward the campaign against obesity and diabetes.
Rolle himself, however, is not committed to any of these subjects at the moment, but fully focused making a successful professional football stint.
Although the player does not lack in intellect in the academics, covering subjects of global population bomb and others, he is unable to reason his unsuccessful efforts to find a permanent pro team.
He was picked as an undrafted free agent by the Tennessee Titans in 2010 but released before the 2011 regular season, without making to the field even once during the course.
He said of Titans stint:
"They respected me and the journey that I've taken and they're proud of me. They feel like they've gone on the journey themselves being young African-American athletes. I feel proud to carry the mantle so to speak and serve as a representation for what a
true student-athlete should be."
Sometimes, it is rather frustrating for him not being able to achieve as much success in his efforts for pro football career but he remains firm to his ambition and goal of making it to the top one day.
