This is my Grandmother she was born around 1910 gave my mother up for adoption in 1928 at the age of 2mo 25days old out of Volunteers of america out of Ft worth Texas. After the baby was born she remarried some time between 1930 and 1940 and moved to california

Ancestry.com shows several Myrtle Thompson's in Texas born around 1910.  Do you have a middle name?  Do you know the town in which she lived?  Also, do you know a date of birth for your mother and where your grandmother was living (town) at the time of the birth?

What's up with the thumbs down?  I'm truly trying to help the asker.  If she's got further information, there's a much better shot at possibly getting somewhere with this. People usually don't post much information in their original questions, but it's not uncommon for them to have more.  Wow.  Some people are just nasty for no good reason sometimes.

Which one of us doesn't want to know where we came from?  There is no need to "thumbs down" laurie for helping or ridicule the questioner for wanting to know their ancestry.

I have been through h**l this week and just want us to all be nice to each other.  We might be on opposite ends of the adoption spectrum, but we all have the same goal in mind.  And that is to "help" others on this forum.  Let's do that instead or "hurting" others.

I have now vented and feel better.

To the asker...I hope you can find your family.  I know how important it must be to you.

How could anyone thumb down advice given to someone looking for their grandmother. Sheeeesh people have a heart. Why must people be so mean?

Maybe it's just pregnancy hormones on my part but this really bothers me. Why must anyone get thumbs down for sharing deeply personal stories or valuable information.
