theres the code to hide it, I dont think anyone offers already hidden comments and friends because not everyone would like it

im pretty sure you can go through your settings and hide it but im not sure

but people can still view your friends and comments even if your layout is hiding them there are several ways around that so i would just say get a layout you like and forget about hiding or learn  html and make your own layout
