In the middle of this past July, my family an I were vacationing in Lake Tahoe. When we went out on our pier to watch the full moon rise one evening, my aunt took a picture of the lake around dusk before the moon had risen. When she looked at the image on her camera, the moon was visible rising over the mountains. We took several pictures on two seperate cameras, and the moon-like object could consistently be seen in the same place over the mountains while remaining invisible to the naked eye. When the moon finally rose it was in a completely different place- appearing on over the mountains opposite us on the east shore of the lake rather than the image our cameras picked up rising over the mountains on the south-east shore. I've googled this a couple of times but can't seem to find an explanation.
