Mystery text message rocks IPL

The drama surrounding the Indian Premier League is far from over and this was seen in an action packed day on Monday. According to an Indian newspaper, the
Times of India, there were rumours of a text message sent by the Indian cricket board secretary, N Srinivasan, which explicitly threatened IPL franchises with punishment if they didn't actively support the current board. action.

However, Srinivasan denied all the charges and has said that his mobile phone was hacked into and someone else had sent the message. Srinivasan also said that he would lodge a complaint to the police.

“This is clearly a case of foul play, and complaints to that effect are being lodged with the concerned mobile phone service, and the police, for immediate action,” Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750
Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty said in a statement.

The text message concerned an ongoing dispute between the IPL and the teams of the Rajesthan Royals and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 XI. Those two franchises have been kicked out of the IPL, but are threatening legal action in
return.  The message also warned off owners from getting in touch with former IPL chief Lalit Modi.

Here is the exact wording of the text message: “Owners should not think they are above the BCCI. We know how to clip your wings. President and I have decided we will run the IPL the way we want to and after
all its our property. We will throw Lalit Modi and anyone attached with him. So best avoid talking to him.” ”

However, the good news from Srinivasan’s perspective is that most of the franchises have acknowledged that the message was a clear case of foul play. According to a manager at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils, they had
no doubt whatsoever from the very time that they received the message that it could not have been sent by Srinivasan.
Mid-Day, a Mumbai-based tabloid is said to have reported the manager say, "We knew from the start that he (Srinivasan) would never send that sort of a message to us. Why would any BCCI official send a message like that? It must be some sort of personal
vendetta against BCCI and Srinivasan,"

Another manager at the Kolkata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knight-c71599 Riders, Jeet Banerjee said, "No way Mr. Srinivasan can ever send a message like that. I just refuse to buy it,"

Srinivasan did say that the Indian cricket board was mulling action against the offender.
