Mystical Space Typhoon help!!!?

Okay I have Mystical Space Typhoon in my hand right. My opponent plays Jar Of Greed. I use Mystical on it. Now, I know Jar Of Greed gets destroyed, but dosen't the effect get negated also?

yep your right it destroys the card your opponet plays and sends them both to the graveyard and it negates jar of greed  you can use mystical space typhoon from the field or your hand during either players turn

If you activate jar of greed then some one tries to mystical it then the card would get wasted and destroy jar of greed but the jar of greed would make you draw 1 card also the specifically says destroy 1 spell or trap card because if you look at negate attack it says negate the attack of a monster and end the battle phase

no mst does not negate the effect of a spell or trap simply destroys, so in this scenario it was a waste

no. it doesnt because the card clealy states to destroy 1 spell or trap card, not negate it.  if you want to negate it you have to use a card that says negate the effect like magic drain, dark bribe, solem judgment......

MST only destroys the trap, so Jar of Greed activates and resolves (opponent draws ONE CARD), then MST destroys it meaninglessly

end result: opponent draws, both cards go to graveyard

the effect is not negated because first, MST doesn't negate effect, it only destroy, it does nothing against a card that can be activated, so it only does something if you opponent use a swords or a premature or something else that stays on the field. secondly, he can chain the card effect when its destroyed.

So, you do need cards that states negate the activation and the effect of a card and destroy it card like solemn or magic jammer or divine wrath to stop the effect. But those cards cost you, solemn cost you life point, jammer cost a to discard a card...

no it doesn't negate it because mystical space typhoon just destroys it so your opponent will still get to draw there one card
