Question:

Mythological Creatures?

I'm writing a story...

And to make a long story short I need a type of creature with potential magical abilities... They don't have to be spectacularly gifted...

They can be humanoid. In fact, that would be even better....

Even if it doesn't quite fit, feel free to throw an idea out there...

  1. a Gorbal

a mistical creature that feeds on clovers

and lives in the dead center of trees

and look alot like gerbals only bigger and can talk but they r invisable to people only nature can see them

  2. There is a whole realm of mythological creatures out there that already have stories and the basis for a story  intact and just waiting for someone to come along and breathe life back into them.... you do not have to make one up- on the contrary... I feel that you could capture more of an interest in your story if you used a creature or say a god or godess that has a background and others could relate to or find interest in....

Let's talk about Nordic mythology for instance --- Have you ever heard of the valkyries  --   Asgard , Valhalla ?

then you have greek mythology which has a wealth of stories of gods-godesses and creatures.... Medusa, Pegasus

    pan ?

then you have many other mytholigical creatures from folklore all around the globe----  fairies, goblins  - mermaids - sirens -- leprachauns?

there are so many of them just waiting to be explored ...

  3. MERMAIDS!!!

They put interest in everything.Well in my opinion.

  4. you could just make up a person could be you or a friend who has powers of mind reading telekenisis(dont know how to spell it) or a power of the elements either all 2 or 1 its easier and elements as in air, water, groud, fire water can be used as steam for a smoke bomb affect to flee or ice to attack and i dont mean bending like in avatar no the actual power as in you can creat that element as well but say that the person usally likes to take the element from his or her surrounding for quicker stronger hits or defense i could tell you more but i have to know what your target is one the story.
