Mythology research paper help?

Question

We have to write a research paper on a mythological god/goddess (mine is Apollo). Among other things, we have to put in the paper a thesis, and a modern person who shares characteristics with the god/goddess and compare the two.

Could you perhaps help me with these two things, I'm stuck.

Wikipedia says "Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of light and the sun; truth and prophecy; archery; medicine and healing; music, poetry, and the arts; and more."  With all of that at your disposal, finding a modern person like him shouldn't be too hard.
