I know what you mean, that exact same thing happened to me.  I found out that the're doing that to prevent password theft.  You can go to your settings though and change it to up to 2 weeks without having to sign in.

Did you delete your cookies?  If so that took out your cookie to set your Yahoo home page sign in.  Just click on "remember me" the next time you sign in and it'll reset your cookie.
