NAFTA trade agreement question. ?

I recently got a job offer from a company in the US for a position of Research Assistant. I have a Bachelor of Science degree with a biology major from a renowned university. My question is, I know that NAFTA has Research Assistant as a legitimate profession but it specifies that it has to be at a Post Secondary Institution. My position is at a pharmaceutical company so I was wondering if that would hurt my chances in obtaining the TN status? Any genuine help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  2. If you were not going to work for a Post Secondary Institution (University) then you would NOT qualify for the job under NAFTA Professional status. If the job would be working underneath a Scientist it is possible you would qualify as a Scientific Technologist. All of this should be handled by your employer though. There are many avenues they could pursue.
