  1. No but we did have a 'possum in a port-a-potty at Talladega  one time.

  2. no.

  3. The same thing happened to me last year except we were on unicycles....and it was pigs, not fawns........and it was on the freeway.......and it was......oh wait...... never mind, that was a movie.......I think.

  4. ok, bizarre question for this area, but since you asked - not really, at least not on a bike.  but i have been in a situation or three involving close calls on foot or in a car with deer in mississippi, cows in baja, and moose in anchorage.

and those are the ones where i wasn't hallucinating ;-)

one day maybe i'll tell the story about the jolly green giant and the little yellow midget...  ;-)

  5. Down on the Jersey shore, we see deer all the time.

I have seem them on the bike/walking trail.

But scince I am with the g/f and dogs, we are walking.

Not nearly as exciting, but still nice.

BTW, If seasoned right, deer tastes like lamb.

  6. Nope........can't say that that has ever happened to me. I did run over a dog on a bicycle once. He was running beside me & then the dummy cut right infront of my bike. Ran right over him. He wasn't too happy with me but it hurt me more than it did him & it was his fault.

    Does that count?

  7. actually yes. A couple of times I have been out mountain biking, and I also ride at night. I ride trails and I don't use a light. I let my eyes adjust to the light from the moon etc. I was riding across grass on a hilly area by a creek, I was moving about 3 or 4 mph in the dark and I saw two eyes about five feet above the ground. I saw a silhouette of an animals head and I noticed there was a deer just standing there staring at me. I rolled ahead in the darkness about 20 yards and stopped and turned around and looked and saw another deer just standing there. I always wondered why they didn't run away, and all I could figure is the sound of a bicycle tire makes a constant, steady, quiet, non-threatening sound, as opposed to human feet making a shuffling sound and a crunching sound with each step. I also found myself surrounded by beavers while I was resting along a river bottom. It's amazing how animals roam around at night. They see better than humans in the darkness. That's why, I like to trail ride at night, without a light. Lights actually blind you from your surroundings.

  8. I live in the country, with deer all over the place, and yes this has happened.  I also got chased by a turkey too.

  9. Wow, can't say as that's ever happened to me before.

Glad you weren't hurt, if it ever happens again, just think happy thoughts of your Matty and all will be good!

  10. Yes, it happens to me every day, except not on a bike but when I ride my horse, these two little deers, come prancing out of the woods, take a little sip of water from the stream running through our pasture, and then seems like they have been running alot, like playing and such, then they stand up on their back legs and put out a hoof to me, they are hitch hiking and we give them a ride to the next pasture and they get off and hop back into the woods,

nah, doesn't happen but had ya going didn't I, ha ha

and I bet it was scary for you two on bikes, you know the damage a deer can do to a car, man I hope you never hit one on a bike, you would be flying through the air with the not so greatest of ease.

be careful, and if they want your bike, next time just let them have it and thumb a ride home with them....tee hee

  11. ive never had them run towards me, but ive almost hit on my dirtbike and 4wheeler.

  12. Yes that happens to me all the time! Not really, but funny story that makes no sense lol.

  13. No, I cant honestly say I have. I bet it scared you though.

  14. No can't say that i have sounds like an exciting ride though!!

  15. YEAH ME TOO! I ATE'M......GOOD THING I HAD MY ALPHA-BITS!!!!!!
