(NASCAR) Is this true about Toyota's longer engine block?

I keep reading blogs and would like to know where they found this so that I could post it for the whole world to know!

  1. you will not get a performance gain from a longer engine block


  2. oh no another conspiracy on why toyota is doing good this year...... which brings up the question, if they are cheating why is only one organization in the chase instead of every toyota team in the garage... but from some of the things ive read its suppose to be anywhere from an inch to 2 inches longer than the older american engines, but some sources say 1/2 inch shorter than chevy's new RO7 engine

  3. I don't know if they are longer but the cylinder spacing is a little wider I do believe.

  4. The Toyota engine has the Nascar mandated 4.5 inch bore centers as does the Chevrolet R07. The two engines are within 1/2 inch in length. The only advantage a longer block would give is wider bore centers and they are not allowed.

  5. No. Toyota just worked harder than everyone else to get what they have.

    NASCR shouldn't have punished them for it either.
