  1. Ya gotta love the king.

My fave was his farewell races. He qualified rather well, and the rest of the field just backed off to let him lead a Lap. (Although I doubt they would admit it).

He wound up wrecking late in the race. His car caught on fire. After wards he made a statement akin to "I always wanted to go out in a blaze of glory, guess I only got the blaze".

    A real class act.

  2. When he totally stole the Daytona 500 from Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison (or was it Bobby)

  3. I honor the KING!!!!

My favorite memory is the 1991? Hooters 500. No, it was 92, sorry.

The 92 Hooters 500, his final lap. I'm a sucker for sentiment..

    edit:yup, 92

  4. dont know much about him ...... but i will honor him..........  hail king richard..................!

  5. "HAIL to the KING"...No specific memory at this moment, but I loved watching the red/blue STP #43 car beat his way around the track.  Here's to King Richard....I raise my glass to honor you!

    Go Jr>>>>

Hope you have a great time at the race tonite!

  6. I respect him as a pioneer in the sport. So I will join in honoring him. Now for the thumbs downs. I never was  a fan of his and felt he was vastly overrated  as a driver. His stuff was better than others and the level of competition was limited in those days.

My favorite memory is him retiring. Sadly he stayed way to long.

  7. what is honering

    honoring?

  8. Gotta love The King. My favorite memory would have to be seeing him win his 200th race.
