NASCAR RACING: Busch brothers in dominating mood
NASCAR's Busch boys raised their seventh victory of the season on Sunday. Here they are in the month of May once again, holding the Sprint Cup up above their heads. This win adds up to their successive driving spree of six races that they have already won in the season. Both drivers have been successful in bagging the Camping World Truck and Nationwide series for this year running as well.
Happy as ever, the brothers from Las Vegas are aiming to achieve more silverware for their trophy cabinet at home.
This month started with the celebrations for Kyle Busch, as the day marked his birthday along with the celebrations of the Sprint Cup win at Richmond. He won the race on the same evening when he turned twenty five. Kyle won the Nationwide Cup races at Dover to become a hero in front of his family. As the racing train rolled into the Charlotte Motor Speedway for a stretch of two-weeks, Kyle Busch grabbed the Truck and Nationwide races without any trouble. At the same time, it was his elder brother Kurt at the All-Star event went on to win Sunday night’s Coca-Cola 600. Thus, both the brothers made a clean sweep at the Sprint Cup events.
The season began for both the brothers. Kyle Busch teamed with Steve Addington while Penske Dodge joined hands with Kurt Busch at the start of this season. The change has proved lucky for both the brothers, as Kyle Busch stands second in the point’s ratings. He is next to Kevin Harvick, who leads by just 29 points.
Before starting the race on Sunday, Kurt Busch told the media that his communication is getting better with Addington. Previously, he had been following directions from Pat Tryson in 2009 which is why he ended at the fourth place in the points table. With his second straight win on this Sunday night, Kyle has been elevated to the sixth place in the season’s standing, with a difference of 172 points from the first position and only six points behind Denny Hamlin who stands at the fifth position.
While talking to reporters, Kurt clarified about his chief that what he enjoyed the most about Steve was the confidence he gave him in the car and the right adjustments that Addington had made for him.
He added that with the passage oftime, as the driver gains experience, so did the crew chief. Kyle explained that Steve was the right person at this point of time. With him, Kyle clarified that he was picking up his game.
However, the Busch brothers' performances are under strict controversies. They have made it into a habit of knowing how to deal with their problems. It was not very long ago that the brothers began receiving all these controversies once they started winning at local tracks. Following the wins, the Busch brothers decided to head southwest, where they had a goal to achieve. Kurt Busch though walked on the paths that were lit bright by his brother, yet the journey never seemed to be an easy one for him at times.
Kurt had focused himself completely on the Sprint Cup Series and gave him a lesser opportunity to divert his attention onto irrelevant debates around him. Kyle continues to magnet more debates and controversies at every track that he goes on to race.
At the time when Kurt Busch was celebrating the twenty-second victory of his career on Sunday night, the driver was still trying to outsmart Jeff Burton after a late-race argument. It was a time when actually he too, should have been celebrating a remarkable comeback.
Kyle said that he could not say that they had asked for a better finish that day. Kyle said that even when he was trying his best, he knew that it would be difficult to improve the tenth or twelfth place with what he had. But he happily added that other racers made some real brave moves on the restarts. Kyle was thankful to the entire team by saying that they did an awesome job on the pit lanes that helped him keep a solid track position. Kyle was excited at the fact that Pretty was proud to see him work so hard which paid back in the end.
