  1. No!! The lucky dog is silly I mean i know why they did it but they should get rid of it...

  2. The "Lucky Dog" was put into effect for safety reasons.

I like a good race and good competition. But it's a dangerous sport by nature. The safety of the drivers, crew, track personnel is important.

So yes, the Lucky Dog should remain in effect.

  3. Heck no they shouldn't!!! If you go lap down get your car right and fight for your lap back.Every driver should have to qualify on time too. No more of this sissy top 35 locked into the race c**p. and get rid of the chase,it's the worst thing to hit NASCAR in it's history of racing.

  4. That would be nice,

  5. I think if a driver is involved in a spinout, because of another drivers fault, if they don't smash their car up, they should freeze the field, go to a caution, and let that driver get his position back. that would be cool.

  6. No they should not.

And if a driver does not make a qualifing run or does not complete the quailifing then they should not race.

  7. I think that they should get a free pass because then if the lap downed cars are way faster than the leaders then they can't complete to win the race unless they get their lap back during green flag pit stops.

  8. only if they are the first driver a lap down (or more, if no one is one lap down).  people complain all the time about this, and not racing back to the line under yellow, but it's for safety reasons.

i posted it elsewhere, but nascar needs to be able to get emergency crews out quickly (think about casey mears and sam hornish in turn two at california).  if crews had to wait while everyone raced around the two mile track (and worse at daytona or talladega) back to the S/F line, then wait for them to slow down (another lap), lives might be put in danger.  i was at that race, and that fire and they way those two cars were wedged together, with casey on his side, was scary.

also, if someone up front wrecks and gets sideways and can't start, they are at risk of getting massively t-boned if everyone goes racing by to get to the S/F line first.

other series have something similar to the lucky dog, and for good reason.
