NASCAR fans ready to have Kyle Busch amongst them
American race lovers never let a chance go by to enjoy some exciting racing spectacles performed by their favourite racers. As a result, the Sunoco American Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 is expected to run amidst the cheers and celebrations of race fans on this weekend. The event is to be showcased at one of the most loved tracks in America, the Pocono Raceway. To serve as an additional cherry on the cake, many NASCAR superstars are partaking in the competition along with organising an afternoon, dedicated by the drivers for their fans which will gear them all up before the race weekend starts.
The fans were served with a special treat as they got a chance to have a closer look of their superstar drivers while they came out at a local auto dealer’s place on this Thursday afternoon.
Hundreds of fans, after being roasted under the warm July sun for hours, jumped and roared to see them at the Toyota of Scranton show room for a question and answer session. Fans knew that the event was to be followed by an autograph session as NASCAR driver Kyle Busch made his way through the fans.
Busch is one of the most loved drivers of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series along with being a team owner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. As of now, he would be racing for the No. 18 Toyota Tundra in the Pocono Mountains 125 truck race that is scheduled to be held this Saturday at the Long Pond raceway.
After negotiations with several sponsors, the Scranton auto dealership has been finally signed to sponsor Busch’s truck.
The much awaited entry of the American driver was held at approximately 6 p.m. with a police escort. People had started gathering there right after 12 a.m. He spent several minutes on the stage in front of the dealership to answer the questions of some delighted fans that were assembled there for a long time. This was followed by an autograph session for which he went inside the showroom of the auto dealer.
Busch stayed there for another hour as he signed memorabilia that the fans had brought along which was followed by placing his signature on several items for dealership employees as well as for their families.
“I love to be at events like this where we can hang out with the fans,” told the racer before he left the place, “It’s great to be here today to support Toyota of Scranton and meet the fans who are out there with us every weekend.”
Once on stage, Busch was asked questions that varied from his favourite NASCAR track to the technical as well as physical and psychological sides of racing. One of the fans even asked him about how hot it really is inside the car during a race.
While talking about his preferred drivers to talk to in the paddock, he told, “Jimmie Johnson is a great guy to talk with, because you can actually get him to say a few sentences,” Busch further told to a young boy that, “With Jeff Gordon, he only gives you one- or two-word answers!”
This Saturday will see Busch heading to Iowa to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide series race. However, Kasey Kahne, the fellow Sprint Cup driver, will be driving Busch’s No. 18 Tundra for whom he said, “Kasey is a great guy, and he always drives well at Pocono.” Busch said. “We hope he drives well this weekend.”
