  1. What about the current heavy rainfall in Ireland at the moment that is necessitating people being evacuated and creating road blockages with flooding and landslides. Surely thousands of people don't have to die in order for your homework to be relevant.

  2. Try the current news-flooding in N Ireland

[Main route into Belfast closed as 20ft of water filled it. This road (Broadway underpass) has been opened for less than a year]

And guess what? It's still raining.

  3. If it doesn't have to be something spectacular, you could check on Tropical Storm Fay's effects on the Dominican Republic.

There was also that dam which burst on the Grand Canyon last week; again, that was not unusually large but certainly atypical.

  4. Well there was the earthquake in China, but that was May. Can't think of any major ones in July or August.

  5. The Tsunami!

  6. N. Ireland flooding ( today ) lots of info. China - quake ,

  7. This can sort of count as the summer, there was a huge earthquake in China in May, leaving nearly 70000 dead. I can't think of anything else and I'm doing a Geography degree so I should know these things!
