Hi, my name is Chris and im 18 years old and im currently in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) for the U.S. Navy. I have been in DEP since March 17, 2008 and I am scheduled to ship out to BT on December 4th. I am having some issues dealing with my recruiter and the job I have chosen. I originally chose the CTN rating as my first job but my recruiter told me i had to test into the NUKE program. I successfully passed the NUKE entry test and I am now in the NUKE program. After looking into the NUKE program a lot more I have decided that the program really wasn't for me. I did not graduate with my class in high school and I have read about how hard the school is. I asked my recruiter if I can switch back to my CTN rate but now he is giving me the run around. I basically told him that if I don't get out of NUKE I'm not shipping out. I also got a tattoo while in DEP (big mistake) on my chest and now my recruiter is telling me that it might effect my job change. The tattoo is easily concealed when i wear a shirt and it has no gang affiliation or anything bad... just some simple writing. I can tell my recruiter is trying hard to keep me in the NUKE program but i definitely do not want to be a NUKE. If you can help me out and give me some advice that would really help me a lot. Thank you.

Oh my Gosh!! I signed up for CTN and switched...well am trying to switch to Nuke too! I passed my test but there are no Female seats avalible right now. :\ Any ways, I would go talk to The chief in your area about it since your recruiter is being stupid. Im sure there is a way to get around it, but you did sign a contract. Best of luck to you! Perhaps if you chose Nuke I'll see you in school! :)
