NBA: Analysis on Miami Heat’s 2010-11 fixtures
The National Basketball Association has finally released the full NBA schedule 2010-11, as the star struck offseason was getting too much for the basketball fanatics. Every year NBA fans across the world mark their calendar with dates their favourite team is going to play on.
Experts say this year the Miami Heat is predicted to be one of the most watched teams, due to the fact that the franchise got hold of the biggest names in the NBA; LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
The trio made the headlines day and night, some hated them while some loved the fact that all three top seeded players were in one team forming a powerhouse. Some predict that the Heat will not even probably win all 72 games this season. Although that might be a stretch but there is not much doubt the three young players do form an impressive team.
Miami Heat’s season starts off rough; facing the Boston Celtics on the 26th of October followed by the Philadelphia 76ers on 27th of October. Both the franchises have the home court advantage. Finally the Heat will get to play against Orlando Magic on the 29th.
The Heat will hit the road once again facing the New Jersey Nets on the 31st in Madison Square Garden, the Mecca of basketball. The Heat will be facing the Minnesota Timberwolves on 2nd of November, which will be not a tough match for them followed by an away game with the New Orleans Hornets on the 5th.
Basketball Analysts say the first 20 games excluding the one against Boston Celtics will be quite easy for them to win. The 76ers, Timberwolves, the Nets, Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards etc, all seem like an easy beat.
Here is a list of the matchups that will be the most enticing to watch between the Miami Heat and adversaries:
Miami Heat vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Arguably the Heat are stronger than the Lakers, however Kobe Bryant’s fans say he is equivalent to the three. Theoretically that might be true but in reality James and Dwyane are two rising stars who almost have the same statistics as Bryant. The matchup will take place on 10th march 2011. Before LeBron came to the south, Dwyane always took the Lakers to a ride. Some say Miami and Lakers could very well form a rivalry for a few years, as Boston Celtics is deteriorating real fast, and they just might till Bryant retires.
Miami Heat vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers
The owner of Cleveland Cavaliers, Dan stated his team will win a championship before the Heat manages to grab one. Dan was not content after James departure from the team and showed resentment towards the All-Star via an open letter to the fans. However Cleveland’s roster is weak and cannot match the new built Miami Heat bench, all the controversy between James and his former team is expected to create many sparks in the regular season. The match between the two will take place on 2nd December 2010 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Another exciting fact about the match will be when LeBron James steps on the court where he played for seven straight years for the Cavaliers.
Boston Celtics vs. The Miami Heat
Boston Celtics being the most feared team right after this year’s champions the Lakers, will face the Heat on 22nd October 2010. The Celtics are packed with veteran players like, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and together the age-old trio will collide against this year’s strongest trio. Watching LeBron, Dwyane and Chris go against extremely talented and experienced players like Kevin, Paul and Ray will definitely test their might and will crystallize the notion if they really are the best or not.
