NBA – Boston Celtics: rating the current high flying current Celtics roster (Part 2)

Continuing our analysis of the Boston Celtics roster that has currently impressed man we are approaching one of the giants, successful and now a veteran player of the NBA.
Shaquille O’Neal is the player under discussion. Once known as the Big Diesel, Shaq now at the age of 38 shows glimpses of the player he once was. Shaquille O’Neal was brought to the Boston Celtics as a result of Kendrick Perkins getting injured in the NBA
Finals this year and according to many at the cost of the Boston Celtics loosing the race to becoming the champions.
Shaquille O’Neal had up until now come up with decent performances and continues to outmuscle his opponents night in and out.
Shaquille O’Neal averages around 22.7 minutes per game and scores around 12.3 points per game. The amazingly helpful thing is the fact that he has a huge amount of rebound average which mounts up to 7 per game. Coupled with these are the 0.5, 0.6 and 0.7
averages of steals, blocks and assists per game respectively.
Though Shamrock, as called by the Boston Celtics fans, isn’t the same player that we saw last season at the Cleveland Cavaliers but his presence and game still fires up players around him. When he gets going on a given night, whether it be Heat or Lakers,
its time to watch out as Boston Celtics can very well demolish them.
Rajon Rondo is another player who is already in the history books of the Boston Celtics. This amazingly talented player had impressed fans from not only the Celtics but all around the NBA world. Rajon Rondo with his consistent and reliability cements a very
key position in the Celtics team.
This point guard may not better than players like Chris Paul but you give him the ball and give him a situation, he will try his heart out until the very end of the match. Rajon Rondo is undoubtedly a very talented player and creates great opportunities
for his team mates regularly.
This season Rajon Rondo is better than ever maintaining the assists average of 14.2 which is only 0.3 behind the record for average assists per game held currently by John Stockton.
Rajon Rondo needs to bag a few more points and for that he needs to improve on his jump shot. Currently a double double point guard he can very well cement his position as one of the best point guard if he manages to maintain a triple double this time.
Coming to the current statistical analysis of this player, we have him playing 39.2 minutes per game which is excellent. In the 39.2 minutes he plays Rajon bags around 10.6 points. Rebounds per game mount up to 4.8 with 2.5 steals, 0.2 blocks and huge 14.2
assists per game.
Glen Davis has been one of the surprise packages of the season. Before the start of the season Glen Davis expressed his concerns over whether or not he would be able to establish a position in the team.
The absence of Perkins coupled with the aged squad of the Boston Celtics has resulted in him seeing quite a few minutes. Glen has capitalized and grabbed every opportunity he has got. He has not only impressed the fans but the coach is also quite happy that
he has developed himself into a player who can very well be in the starting lineup.
Glen Davis averages 29.3 points per game and scores 10.4 points per game. Added to these are the 1 steal, 4.8 rebounds, 0.4 blocks and 1.2 assists he makes. Undoubtedly, Glen Davis is very talented and needs just a little guidance and more time on court.
With the passage of time, this player very well has the capability of becoming an All-Star.
