NBA Breaking News: First Half Analysis, Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks
Start of First Half
Giving a start to the game, the ball was jumped between the starters of both the teams Andrew Bynum and Amar’e Stoudemire. Pau Gasol acted instantly and dunked forward to gain possession of the ball for the Lakers.
First Quarter
The Lakers started the game with a turnover and Wilson Chandler jumped forward to gain possession of the ball for them. Chandler’s driving layup shot assisted by Stoudemire earned the Knicks their first two points. Bynum was trying for a jump shot that he
missed as the shot was blocked by Stoudemire. The Lakers grabbed a team rebound right after a few missed shots; Gasol punched in a layup shot to gather the first two points for his team at 10.43 on the clock to tie the game, 2-2.
Raymond Felton clinched a three pointer as Chandler gave him an assist to take the lead back for New York, 5-2. Shawne Williams layup shot later assisted by Felton edged the Knicks further, 7-4. Kobe Bryant committed a shooting foul with 8 minutes in second
quarter and Shawne Williams dished out the free throw given to them. Chandler made a driving slam dunk shot in an attempt assisted by Stoudemire, now going 10-4 over the Lakers. Bynum added a tip shot to clinch his first two points at 7:16 on the clock. The
shot was followed by Artest’s layup shot.
Lamar Odom’s jump shot later on gave the Lakers one-point lead over the Knicks, 18-17. Scores were tied at 21-all when Chandler made a turnaround jump shot, Ronny Turiaf gave the other Knick an assist.
End of First Quarter
Lakers took a four point lead over the Knicks, 25-21.
Second Quarter
Bill Walker of Knicks clinched a three pointer as Toney Douglas gave him an assist to clinch 24-25, running closer to Lakers. Walker committed a shooting foul right after to provide the Lakers a free throw. Odom clinched one and missed the other, going 26-24.
Steve Blake of Lakers committed a shooting foul and Williams dished out both the free throws provided to the Knicks, 32-34.
The game scores were tied once again at 36-all as Bynum made a tip shot to score his 10 points. Stoudemire’s jump bank shot took the lead into New York’s hands 38-36. Gasol edged the Lakers once again parallel to the Knicks, 40-all. Gasol trounced a free
throw as a result of a shooting foul committed by Williams at 2 minutes in second half.
Bryant’s three pointer at a minute left in the quarter edged the Lakers with five points, 52-47.

The Los Angeles Lakers took a five lead over the New York Knicks, 52-47.
