NBA Breaking News
The Utah Jazz led the Sacramento Kings 73-55 at the start of the third quarter of their game at the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City.
As the game moves into the final quarter, the Jazz are looking the brighter of the two sides, which is only to be expected given they are in front of their home fans.
The Utah Jazz took the lead, with C.J. Miles scoring 18 points, Al Jefferson contributing 16 and both Andrei Kirilenko and Deron Williams scoring 10 points. Carl Landry has scored 12, Tyreke Evans has scored 11 and Donte Greene has scored eight points for the Kings.
Game Stats
The game has been played at a frantic pace, and the lead has changed hands as many as nine times. The score has been tied on seven occasions, so there is a chance this one might go into overtime.
First Quarter
Greene committed a foul at the start of the first quarter. At the other end Kirilenko missed one of the two free-throws awarded to the Jazz. Utah was gifted two free-throws after they had scored off a rebound.
Jefferson scored two points with a jump-shot, accompanied by an assist from Williams. The Kings were also persistent in the first quarter. Landry made a jump-shot and scored four points for the Kings. Samuel Dalembert grabbed a rebound for the Kings soon after. Evans then gave away a turnover, which proved costly for the Kings. However, Greene then scored a remarkable alley-oop and dunk-shot, which grabbed them six points.
Second Quarter
The Kings gave away a lot of fouls and turnovers, which really choked the game for them. Francisco Garcia committed a foul at the start of the second quarter. Utah’s Kyrylo Fesenko was then given two free throws, both of which he missed. Omri Casspi scored two points for the Kings with the help of a jump shot.
The Jazz made a number of rebounds in the second quarter. Cousins finally managed to score off a jump-shot, after missing a few earlier ones. Beno Udrih responded by scoring two for the Kings from a jump shot. Udrih then gave away a turnover too.
Third Quarter
At the start of the third quarter Jefferson missed a jump shot. Sacramento’s Dalambert then committed a foul and Jefferson improved the home team’s free-throw record on the night, scoring off both throws. The Jazz have managed eight more points at the start of this quarter.
