NBA Breaking News: Second Half Analysis, Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks
Start of Second Half
The Los Angeles Lakers held a five point lead over the New York Knicks by the end of first half, 52-47.
Third Quarter
Amar’e Stoudemire clinched the very first shot of the third quarter as he perched a jump shot, 49-52. Kobe Bryant clinched three points for the Lakers as he dished out a three pointer right after Stoudemire. Pau Gasol had a shot blocked for the Knicks that
could have otherwise been another jump shot by Stoudemire. Bryant made the second three pointer in a row for his team after he rebound the ball at 11 minutes on the clock. This shot edged the Lakers further with a nine point lead over the stumbling Knicks,
58-49.
After a series of personal fouls from the Lakers, the Knicks dished out a three pointer. Williams clinched the fortunate pointer assisted by Landry Fields, now going 52-58. Stoudemire committed a shooting foul that helped the Lakers collect two more points,
62-52. Williams committed a shooting foul at 6:15 on the clock after Fields missed a three pointer attempt. Andrew Bynum slam dunked to edge further over the Knicks, 74-58. Bynum was replaced by Odom after he committed a shooting foul. As a result Chandler
clinched a point dishing out the free throw provided, 59-74.
End of Third Quarter
Lakers took an 11 point lead over the Knicks, 81-70.
Fourth Quarter
Bryant missed a jump shot and Bynum committed two technical fouls in a row. He was replaced by Pau Gasol at 11:26 in buzzer. Wilson Chandler made out both the technical free throws provided, going 72-81. Bryant made a jump shot assisted by Odom dropping
the Knicks to a 10-point deficit again, 83-73.
With 8:12 in game and Lakers still leading, Chandler committed another shooting foul that edged the Lakers with 11 points, 87-76. Gasol grabbed a rebound after Toney Douglas missed a jump shot at 7 minutes left in buzzer. The Knicks were intent on pursuing
the lead, but they lacked defence. The Lakers kept edging over them and kept enhancing their shots. The Lakers played with full strength, never letting go of the lead. Derek Fisher’s three pointer edged them 17 points further over the Knicks, 98-81. Odom rebound
the ball after Stoudemire missed a tip shot. Artest’s free throws scored the Lakers their 100 points, leaving the Knicks at 83.
Derrick Caracter of Lakers made a jump shot as Luke Walton produced an assist in the last moments of the game. Timofey Mozgov’s alley oop dunk shot was the last shot of the game for the Knicks.

The Los Angeles Lakers flurried past the New York Knicks, giving them the first loss after their brilliant 2K11 start, 109-87.
