NBA: Carlos Boozer Says He Doesn’t Fear Miami Trio
Carlos Boozer, the tall power forward, says he does not fear Miami Heat and the trio. Carlos is very positive about being a part of his new team, the Chicago Bulls. He insists on the fact that with or without LeBron they have a chance of performing in the championship.
After the King announced that he’d be making a powerhouse, by joining Dwyane and Chris Bosh in Miami Heat, which he knew would make the team one of the most feared and loved. He did not manage to leave Boozer trembling though, as Boozer said, “You can't be afraid to play somebody because they have three really good players. How are you going to win if you're afraid to play? We're not going to be afraid to play. We're going to fight, we're going to attack. We're going to go out there and see what happens”.
Carlos also stated that he tried his best to convince LeBron to join him in Chicago, but sadly the much talked about King of NBA free agency said in his interview that he’d be going to Miami leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland in despair while people at the South Beach would party hard about.
Boozer said he obviously wanted to play with James who is also his former teammate from Cleveland, and he said he was happy for him despite his decision. Carlos Boozer also played with James in the U.S Olympic team.
Chicago Bulls with high hopes and a supporting cast were ready to pick the three top players of the free-agency, the Bulls had planned to make big deals this summer but everything came to an end when The Big Three decided to join Miami Heat. That is when they decided to make a contract with the two time All-Star forward Carlos Boozer.
The deal is reportedly for the period of five years and is about $75M, Utah Jazz turned the deal into a sign-and-trade deal a day later. Leaving both of the teams happy as Utah Jazz earned some money while Carlos secured the Chicago Bulls future.
Sources said that Kyle Korver, who also played for the Utah Jazz, followed Carlos to the team. They say it was a good decision as the Chicago Bulls have been desperate for a shooting guard since the past few years. Korver reportedly signed a contract for $15M which would last for about three years.
Korver’s scored an astounding number of 3-pointers, last year he hit 59 out of 110 with an average of 7.2. The Bulls have also obtained a former Duke player named Luol Deng and have reportedly offered Orlando’s restricted free agent J.J. Redick $19M for a three-year period stay with the team. The 6ft 4inch guard, Redick, was the 11th pick at this year’s drafts and if Orlando Magic does not match the Bulls offer than he is most likely to end up in Chicago, although Otis Smith who is the general manager for Orlando told the press that they are going to try their level best to match the Bulls offer. J.J. was averaging 9.6 points per game in just 22.0 minutes off the bench. The coaches love his enthusiasm towards the sport and ability to keep his teammates morale up.
As far as James was concerned, the former seemed positive when asked about how the King was, in their meetings. He said James was professional and terrific and that Chicago wouldn’t be the place where all three were likely to start their reign. Former also said that LeBron was going to be criticized even if he decided to join a team other than Miami, it was bound to happen.
Forman said, "He had to do what was best for him and his family. Hopefully, we'll see him down the road”. Experts say that Chicago might have added a lot of rookies to their roster, but Chicago Bulls have drafted much better players than last year’s and will certainly perform well in the coming playoffs, with the obvious help of Carlos Boozer the team game will definitely be alleviated.
