NBA Fast Break: Top Moments of the Day
A beautiful display of basketball led the Charlotte Bobcats, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, and Golden State Warriors against their
respective opponents.
Here are some of the most eye-catching moments of the day, handpicked to give you the crux of National Basketball Association (NBA) action:
Dunk of the Night
Andre Iguodala, who said before the start of the match that his Achilles injury was bothering him, did not seem troubled at all. He scored eight points on 2-of-9 shooting
with five rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two blocks in the Philadelphia 76ers win against the New Jersey Nets, 82-77.
Beside the leading performance, the crown of the best Dunk of the night also goes to Iguodala because of the way he drove to the basket, and put down the amazing reverse
flush was just outstanding.
Assist of the Night
DeMar DeRozan contributed 14 points, grabbed three assists and five rebounds in the Toronto Raptors 97-91 defeat against the Charlotte Bobcats at the Time Warner Cable
Arena.
The title of Assist of the night also belongs to the shooting guard, DeMar DeRozan. With five minutes to go in the first quarter, the way DeRozan passed to Amir Johnson
for a two-handed jam was just amazing. Johnson earned three points with the assist from DeRozan, and gave the Raptors the opportunity to overcome the deficit and take a one-point lead.
Block of the Night
Dwight Howard provided Orlando Magic with 21 points (team’s second highest) and 14 rebounds in a 111 – 94 defeat against the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.
In addition, Howard gets the label of Block of the night. With the clock running down, Ty Lawson of the Nuggets thinks he has an easy lay-up, until Dwight Howard swoops
in and blocks his shot into the stands.
Howard, who likens himself to a superhero, said, "I like blocking shots, but, for guys, he's one dribble and laying the ball up and I'm all the way on the other side,
I can't fly over there.”
Steal of the Night
David Lee contributed 10 points, four assists, 11 rebounds, and two steals, in the Golden State Warriors 108-99 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at the ORACLE Arena.
Although his contribution towards the success of Warriors was not very impressive, he did however make get his team the steal of the night. Lee gets one of his steals
and pushes the ball to Reggie Williams for the dunk for two points.
