First quarter
Following the ritual of ball throwing, the ball was jumped between David Lee (GSW) and Spencer Hawes (Sixers) and Jrue Holiday gained possession of the ball for the Golden State Warriors.
At the very beginning of the game Hawes gave a turnover for the Sixers and Golden State Warriors experienced a jump shot missed by Eddy Curry. Holiday grabbed a rebound and shortly after that, Andres Nocioni missed a running layup shot.
Monta Ellis initiated two points for the GSW with a pullup jump shot as Dorell Wright gave him an assist at 10:12 on the clock.
Lee stepped back to make a jump shot for the GSW again as Ellis dunked in to give his teammate an assist. Holiday missed a shot as he jumped to net a basket at 9:17 and Lee rebounded instantly for the GSW.
Holiday’s shooting foul was the first one of the game and that woke two free throws from Wright that took the GSW 6-0.
Nocioni was taken aback at that and he moved forward and clinched the first two points for the Sixers while Holiday gave him an assist 2-6.
Curry made a three pointer for the GSW after Louis Amundson’s slam dunk and Hawes made a jump shot that was assisted by Holiday. With 6:49 on the clock, the Warriors had a 10-point advantage over the Sixers 6-16.
A series of three pointers, hook shots and jump shots moved the Sixers ahead and they saw a first quarter lead 30-25 over GSW.
Second quarter
Wright missed the very first jump shot that came their way and Lee immediately rebounded the ball for the GSW. He gave a turnover and Hawes clinched a hook shot as Jodie Meeks gave him an assist. Ellis went ahead in action but missed the reverse layup shot
and Young rebounded for the Sixers right after.
Wright clinched another three pointer to take GSW 28-32 and Reggie Williams committed a shooting foul that gave the Sixers a chance of recovering their free throws. Meeks recovered one and missed the other free throw, Sixers still led with five points 33-28.
Ellis’s pullup jump shot at 6:06 on the clock brought the Warriors closer to the Sixers 34-35. Brand made a fade away jump shot and then another one that took the scores further for the Sixers 39-36.
Game was tied at 2:18 scores were 47-all and the Warriors jumped ahead to take the lead till the end of second quarter 55-49.
