NBA Free Agency Day 2 : Paul Pierce going back to Boston Celtics Amar’e Stoudemire to move on

So what happened in the day 2 of the NBA free agent summit?  Well the bigger names still have not seem struck a deal as of yet with anyone of the rumoured franchises, keeping their fans on the edge of the seat, the curiosity is certainly killing everyone within.

Although one big hearted player made a sacrifice for his team by renewing his contract with them, while on the other hand another superstar apparently took a pay cut in his salary so his team could increase their salary cap, in order to get hold of another star.

Paul Pierce is a man who opted out from the top rated team of NBA with the desire to increase his pay check and the questions which were unanswered about his concerns with teammates were answered today after Pierce decided to go back to his former team Boston Celtics.  Paul decided to re-sign with his former team under a 4 year contract of around
$61.5M which if calculated is much less than, if he had not opted out.

So did the player return because his apparent feud had ended with his fellow mates or because he realized there is more to the game than just money? The small forward said that he was ready to win more games and he wants to concentrate on winning keeping at his main objective.  Well let us hope the player stays true to his statement because if the Celtics end up facing Lakers in the finals again by next year, with the same people on the rooster that will certainly be insane.

So, what about Amar’e Stoudemire? Well Amar’e seems to be playing the same game all of the most wanted stars are playing, keeping his fans in the shadow. He has made it clear he will not be returning to his former team the Phoenix Suns because he has been offered a sweet deal by another tea, when asked who they were he refrained from mentioning. All he said was `he was so impressed with the deal’, and implied he might sign the contract by Saturday.

If he does go through with the deal he will be the first big name to do so, So, it looks as if Amar`e Stoudemire will not return to the Phoenix Suns next year. Because he has said that he has received an offer from another team that will most likely be a better offer than what the Suns can offer.

Speculations have been made on which team it could be but then again it is not clear who offered him the hefty deal; the last meeting he came from was with Miami Heat who apparently have contracted Chris Bosh as well.

With the whole international player recruitment business going on, new promising players from overseas seem to my fleeing in the NBA. But with this particular team, it seems to be the opposite as Sergio Rodriguez who has played for several NBA teams such as Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers and the New York Knicks has signed a contract with Real Madrid for the upcoming season.

Day 2 was a busy day for the Boston Celtics as they drafted a newbie named Avery Bradley from Texas University. The terms of the detail between the team and the player have not yet been unveiled.

With everyone pointing their fingers at the Suns for being a failed team because they were unable to get back Amar’e Stoudemire, it is not half as bad. The Phoenix Suns obtained a power forward, Hakim Warrick for a 4 year deal upto $18M. He will most likely be a stud in the following years especially considering the fact he has a pretty decent average in previous years.
