NBA GM’s vote, pick Miami Heat and LeBron James to repeat performance next season – NBA News
The NBA published the results of their annual survey of the league’s front offices on Monday, and most of the general managers are convinced that the Miami Heat are going to win the NBA championship once again next season, and
LeBron James will win his fourth most valuable player award.
Seventy percent of the league’s general managers have picked the Heat to repeat last year’s championship win with another one this season. The Heat was the favourite in last year’s survey as well, and proved the GM’s right by winning
the 2010-2011 NBA championship. The Los Angeles Lakers were received the second highest votes to win the championship at 23 percent, and the Oklahoma City Thunder only got seven percent of the votes after losing to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals this past
season.
The Heat were the unanimous pick from the Eastern Conference, with 29 out of 30 executives voting for them to reach the NBA Finals. Since a general manager cannot vote for his own team, the Miami Heat General Manager voted for
the Boston Celtics to reach the NBA Finals this coming season. In the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers received 60 percent votes as the team to reach the NBA Finals.
LeBron James was picked as the most likely person to win the regular season MVP title with 67 percent of the votes, while Kevin Durant received 30 percent of the votes for the MVP category. James was voted as the league’s best
small forward for the seventh year in a row, and was also voted as the third best power forward in the league behind Kevin Love and Dirk Nowitzki, after playing at the four position during games last season.
Anthony Davis, the number 1 overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, received 77 percent of the votes to win the rookie of the year award. Damian Lillard, the first round pick of the Portland Trail Blazers, came in second with 20 percent
votes. Gregg Popovich was voted as the best coach, the best motivator and the best coach to make in game adjustments. The Lakers were voted to have had the best offseason out of all the teams in the NBA, and the Brooklyn Nets got 62 percent of the votes as
the most improved team during the offseason.
