NBA Hall of famer Dominique Wilkins sued by ex-NBA referee

Former NBA great, Dominique Wilkins, who represented Atlanta Hawks for most part of his career, has made headlines for all the unwanted reasons. Wilkins, who is considered as one of the top dunkers in NBA history has been sued
by a former NBA referee Rashan Michel, who was arrested last march following a brawl with the nine times All-star.
According to Atlanta Journal Constitution report, Rashan filed a lawsuit against Wilkins this Friday in the Fulton County State court. The suit asserts that Wilkins continuously punched Rashan, who is also a custom suit tailor,
without incitement after the approached Wilkins to claim his $12,000 unpaid debt for custom suits. Rashan
According to Rashan, Wilkins later lied to the guards about the fight claiming he had been attacked first.
Wilkins was never charged of any crime when the incident took place and charges against Rashan were also dropped consequently. Michel has also claimed that he lost his job after the incident and now wants to vindicate the physical
and emotional torture and the public humiliation; he suffered due to the brawl.
Even before the brawl, Michel had already filed a lawsuit against the Hall of Famer in order to recover his money. He was however hoping to get the matter settled out of the court. When it didn’t happen, he decided to take the
matter in his own hands and the result was a March 30 brawl.
According to Atlanta’s policeman Carlos Campos later revealed the initial report of the fight
"It appears the gentleman came down after the game. Mr. Wilkins was giving a live broadcast and he started yelling some things, confronting Mr. Wilkins. When Mr. Wilkins stepped away to de-escalate the situation, Mr. Michel pursued
Mr. Wilkins to the point that he physically attacked him."
A video footage of the complete fight that was taken by one of the many fans in the arena was obtained by the media and was played on channels for days. In the video, Wilkins was seen throwing at least two punches at Michel. However
the people around then intervened and stopped the fight. Michel nevertheless suffered a bruised eye.
