“Johnnnnnyyyyy, come down and have dinner now.”
“Wait, mom…..” Sighs.
Ten minutes later.
“Joooooonnnnnnnyyyyyyy…..”
“Mom… Mum, mummy, ok just one minute!”
“JONNY!” (I am sure Mrs. Daniels who lives next door is going to call 911 now, reporting child abuse while blowing her nose with a dirty tissue.)
“Mom, wait… the nail is in the coffin now!”
“WHAT???!!!!” the new crystal bowl that she bought at the Christmas sale slipped out of her hands and she turned towards the stairs in Matrix style, stepping three steps at a time.
She opens the door to Johnny’s room, stumbling inside, fully expecting to see him sitting beside a goo goo doll, candles lit around him and a pang of pain runs inside her. What if she can’t change his mind, what if she never gets
her baby back? What if he is actually possessed by a demon? What if??? Tears start forming in her eyes. Jonny turns to look at his mom with bewildered eyes, his mouth curls into a frown and he throws his Xbox joystick away.
“Why??? You spoiled my game.” he runs away.
Mum keeps standing there, her feet frozen on the floor in Johnny’s room where all the walls are covered with life size posters of his favorite NBA stars. She stares at a 7ft 6” tall Yao Ming who dwarfs her 5ft 5”. She walks forward
and picks up the PSP from the floor. Tears run down her cheeks as she whispers a silent prayer and promises herself to give Mrs. Lee the secret family recipe she had been asking for. She closes the door and walks out, leaving the arena crowd booing at the
beaten Boston Celtics in Johnny’s PSP.
Yeah you are right! Johnny was not actually burying someone in coffin but was playing his favorite NBA Jam on his Xbox. Basketball is addictive! Who wouldn’t give it a try? Well, it’s the dream of every basketball fanatic to step
into the shoes of his/her favorite basketball player and experience the game that way. The game can prompt anyone to give basketball a try in real life. The game gives an ambience of a basketball arena and one can actually feel the press’s flashing camera
lights on oneself.
NBA Jam is an arcade game that was programmed in assembly language back in 1993 by Midway. Mark Turnell had succeeded in making this game for all the basketball fans out there, who were dying to have a go at it. This game gave
birth to a different genre of sports games. Never before had the experience been so lively. The player gets to know about rules of the NBA, though not many actually apply to this game.
The game has changed its features and has gone through brilliant changes during a span of 16 years. The latest edition of this game was released on November, 26th, 2010 by EA Sports.
The game is a sports a palette of colors with its super 3D environment, bright colors and 3D basketball players’ bodies with 2D heads. This game comes with a multi-online player option too. Now you can ping your friends and let
them see how you can set the game on fire.
Whoa! The players are exactly like the likenesses of the original players. You can fly over and make a slam dunk like Superman, no rules of gravity or laws of physics would stop you from doing that here. Unlike the real NBA, you
can shove the opposite out of your way. No fouls are given hence no free throws, except for goaltending and the 24 second violations.
Make three baskets in a row and set yourself on fire actually. This is the cool “turbo mode” that \ gives the player more special abilities. The player will then have an increased shooting strength and would not be accused of goaltending
except if he makes four consecutive baskets in a row. The game uses the popular culture of the NBA and has quite a flavor.
There are special codes and secret players and lots of Easter eggs in the game. The player can explore the real taste of basketball as there are different types of challenges which tempt the player to explore the sport further.
There are hidden players who can only be unlocked when a certain number of challenges are done.
There are teams from the Eastern Conference and Western Conference that are composed of the leading players of those teams. This gives the player knowledge about different teams and players and gains more insight into the sport.
Become John Wall, Kobe Bryant or Kevin Garnett and step in!
