The Timberwolves might not meet the same team they met the last time when Kevin Love came up with one of his best games in NBA history. The Knicks are a much more powerful and mature team and they know how to play. The Knicks clinched a rather brilliant
victory against the Toronto Raptors 116-99 Sunday night. The New York Knicks meet the Minnesota Timberwolves Monday night at Madison Square Garden.
Stats
The New York Knicks will look to their fifth straight victory and a season split between Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Knicks (12-9) since beginning with a 3-8 start have won nine of 10 games. The New York Knicks will play seven of their nine upcoming games at home after playing their league high 13 road games up till now.
The New York Knicks would never forget their Nov. 12 loss to the Timberwolves when Love scored 31 points and grabbed 31 rebounds that were his franchise high. That game was an unforgettable one because the Knicks lost a 21 point lead in the third quarter.
From the pages of Nov. 12 history
"Kevin had an incredible game," Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis said after the game was over. "Those numbers are just stupid. I don't even know what to say."
It's all about Love
Love is now matching Pau Gasol for the league with 15 double doubles. He has an average of 23.7 points and 18.8 rebounds matching up his run of sixth straight double-doubles. Before this he had 28 and 19 in a 129-95 take over of Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday
that blew off a six game losing streak.
The Timberwolves are very excited about the game and they will look to defeat the Knicks but they better not underestimate them.
"We just want to take the same effort that we had tonight into the New York game and through the rest of next week and kind of get things going our way," Love expressed his feelings about the upcoming game. "I think the best part about today is we were only
focused on this game, not worrying about the losing streak or really anything else."
Watch out Timberwolves
The Timberwolves must keep an eye on the hot duo Raymond Felton and Amare Stoudemire as both of them are teaming up to cast high defence of their team.
"We definitely got our chemistry going right now. It makes my job so much easier when you've got chemistry with a guy that can finish like that. I think he's one of the best, if not the best finisher in the league at that position."
