NBA: LeBron James and Dwyane Wade’s statistical comparison

If you’re a Miami Heat fan it’s like a fairy tale come true. It was possible to believe that Dwyane Wade would re-sign with the Miami Heat but to imagine LeBron James to actually join his 2003 batch buddies in the franchise was like a mere illusion, believing Santa Claus is real sounds more pragmatic. Some say it still seems so unreal, to imagine two of the youngest and highly regarded players working together.
Since LeBron has arrived in the team it has become hard to distinguish who will be the leader of the team. Although LeBron stated in one his interviews that “it’s Wades team”, still the thought of two extremely high averaging players working together leaves one confused.
To distinguish between the two and say who’ll be leading the team would be quite impossible as the Heat won’t be playing until next year. However statically one could determine who has relatively had a better career, but whatever the outcome maybe the two play at different positions and have had stellar careers in their respective teams forming their own legacy.
LeBron James was under the spotlight before he even came to the NBA he was referred to as “King James” while Dwyane Wade has made his legacy through sheer hard work.
James athleticism is remarkable, with his size and weight it’s astonishing to see him the way he moves. He is fast and pulls of moves which seem impossible for a person his size. James fans say there are only two in the league who match up to his calibre, Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade.
James is also known to be a great team leader, his ability to give show stopping performances and he is an amazing playmaker.
On the other hand Dwyane Wade is a designated score maker and is known for his ludicrous game at the offense, basketball enthusiasts have already started comparing him to the legendary Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers. Basketball pundits believe there will be time when Wade would surpass Kobe.
Dwyane Wade and James both have been selected to play for the All-Star team six-times consecutively from 2005 to 2010. Although Dwyane has never received the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award which James has won two-times back to back first in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Both the stellar players have received the NBA Scoring Champion title, Dwyane received it last year seasons while James won it the year before that, 2008.
LeBron won the NBA rookie of the year in 2004 followed by making in appearance in the All-NBA First Team 4-times, All-NBA Second team and All-Defensive team two-times.
While Dwyane made it to the All-NBA First team and All-NBA Second team two-times, conversely three-time All-Defensive Second team, NBA All-Rookie First Team and is a two-time Skills Challenge Champion.
The two although are two different entities, Dwyane Wade plays as the shooting guard, while LeBron plays as the small forward and sometimes a guard. Dywane stands at 6feet 4inches and weighs at 220 pounds, LeBron is 6’8” and weighs 250 pounds. LeBron James is more of swing man and Dwyane is a shooting machine who plays a straightforward game yet dominates his way.
As far as the two stardom goes, LeBron is widely known around the world not that Dwyane isn’t but when James came to the NBA he was given a lot of attention by the media calling him the next Jordan. He was given Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award in 2003 which is given to the best high school player across America. LeBron might not be in the best of books of basketball fanatics at the moment but after his departure from his hometown team the Cleveland Cavaliers the media has highlighted him countless times making him more famous than ever.
However there Dwyane might not have the stardom that LeBron has been fortunate to have he has something that LeBron James doesn’t, NBA Championship ring. Some say who ever has a championship is the winner, forget all accolades the ring puts everything aside. Dwyane had the honour of winning his first ever NBA championship in 2006 after his team eliminated the Dallas Mavericks by 4-2. Dwyane was accompanied by Shaquille O’Neal together they both took the Miami Heat to win its first National Championship.
Statically in some categories James is ahead of Dwyane, however he does not have a championship ring for which he left his hometown to head to Dwyane’s hoping together they’ll raid the league and tear down any franchise that comes their way.
Like it was previously mentioned deciding who is better would be impossible to decipher, as both have a strong fan following and have achieved a lot in their seven-year career with the NBA. All one can do now is wish them the best of luck in the upcoming season and hope they actually prove their much talked about might.
