NBA Match Preview – Chicago Bulls vs. Houston Rockets
After defeating the Houston Rockets in an away match last month, it is the Chicago Bull’s turn to host the Rockets this month. In their second meeting of the season, the Bulls take on the Rockets at the United Centre in Chicago
this Saturday.
Alternating between a win and a loss these past two weeks, the Bulls are now on a two match losing streak having lost to Orlando Magic on Wednesday and then to the Boston Celtics last night. Currently at a standing of 9-8, the
Bulls enjoy a 5-2 mark at home, whereas their road record lies at 4-6. Playing their third match of the week, the Bulls currently stand at 0-2 having lost to Magic and Celtics earlier in the week.
With their power forward Carlos Boozer back in the line up; the Bulls are looking to turn around their losing streak hoping for a win against the Rockets tonight. Boozer made his season debut with the Bulls on Wednesday in the
match against Magic. Boozer had missed the first month of play due to a broken bone in his right hand.
Boozer scored five points with two rebounds in twenty minutes against Magic on Wednesday. He again had twelve points with two boards in the same time with the Celtics. However, seeming as his chemistry with the team is still not
set, Bulls failed to score 100 on both occasions losing 78-107 to Magic and 92-104 to Celtics.
Talking about the lack of chemistry Boozer has with the team, teammate and point guard Derrick Rose said, "When we get our connections going, I think we should be all right,"
Boozer himself admits that there is a lot to be done if the Bulls are to get back on track, "There are a lot of things to clean up. It shows we have a long way to go."
Although their road record has generally “sucked” as of late, the Bulls are somewhat a success when it comes to home games. With five wins to two losses and with Boozer back in the line up, Bulls stand somewhat of a chance against
the Rockets tonight, who coincidentally are trailing the standings in the Western conference.
Although at a two game winning streak this week, the Rockets currently stand at the 7-12 mark with 9 losses last month. Although tied at 4-4 at home, their road record lies at 3-8. Only last night the Rockets managed to turn over
their four game losing streak on the road. Hosted by the Memphis Grizzlies last night, Rockets managed a road win after thrashing the Grizzlies with a defeat of 16 points. The final match score was 127-111 in the Rockets favour.
Rockets currently stand at a 2-1 mark this week. Losing to Dallas Mavericks (91-101) on Monday, Rockets defeated the L.A. Lakers (109-99) on Wednesday and then the Grizzlies last night. Meeting the Bulls tonight for the second
time, the Rockets not only hope to win to level the head to head score at 1-1, but they also look for a three game winning streak for the first time this season.
With exceptional performances from Kyle Lowery, Kevin Martin and Brad Miller in the past two games, the Rockets are quite confident for a win tonight. Having made 54.9 percent shots in their last two games, the Rockets look to
their shooters to bring home another victory. Talking about Rockets’ shooting lately, Lowry said, "We've got a lot of good shooters, and it shows."
With both teams hoping for a win desperately, it remains to be seen whether the Rockets will get their three game winning streak or will the Bulls go 2-0 in the head-to-head score.
