6. LeBron James
If anybody deserves to be widely known around the world as one of the best players currently playing in the NBA then that would be LeBron James.
He may have made some mistakes in the early stages of his career but in the long run, great success (and deserved too) has come the way of the 27 year old, which not only cements him as a super star in the America but all around
the world.
The three times MVP, 8 times NBA All-star had achieved much in his career but the NBA Championship had eluded the chosen one all his career. However, James achieved that final goal in 2012 and he did it with style.
James won his third MVP award during the last regular, and then went on to become the Finals MVP in a 4-1 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. To cap off an excellent summer of 2012 James led team USA to back to back gold medal
at the Olympics by beating Spain in re-match from four years ago.
Anyone who follows the game of basketball on a consistent basis had already heard LeBron’s name before the player had feature in even a single NBA game. The man lived up to his reputation and the exploits may not stop any time
soon as he still has a long way to go before he decides to hang his playing boots up.
7. Dwight Howard
One of the best big men of his generation, Dwight Howard does not fall behind when it comes to having huge fan following around the world.
D-12 affected his popularity status by the way he dealt with his trade situation at the Orlando Magic but he is bound to succeed in the purple and yellow of the Los Angeles Lakers.
This move would not only help him reform his image to fans across the world but also give him a strong chance of completing his goal of winning the NBA Championship. The six times All-star, the three times Defensive player of the
year has already achieved much in his career.
Howard in known for his aggressive displays in the paint and averaging double-double figures for his career is mere proof of how brilliant he has been working in the middle.
This aggressive style of play gives him a chance of success with the Lakers as he joins the list of NBA’s greatest big men who have played in Hollywood and have won multiple NBA Championships. With his talent, power and skill set,
Howard is likely to have a similar fate and it will further highlight his name to an already huge fan base around the world.
