NBA Playoff Prediction: 10 reasons Miami Heat will outshine the Philadelphia 76ers (Part-1)
The Miami Heat clinched the second seed in the East and will have the home court advantage against all their Eastern Conference foes aside from the Chicago Bulls. After finishing the season
with four straight victories, the Heat look forward towards their first round opponents Philadelphia 76ers for the next couple of weeks in a seven-game series.
During the regular season, the trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh was pivotal in marshalling Miami to a clean 3-0 sweep against the Sixers. Philadelphia however didn’t make the
life easy for the Heat, as all of the games were decided in the fourth quarter.
With both teams all set to take on each other in the first game of the first round of playoffs, this Saturday, Miami not only hold the edge on the court but have a history to back it up too.
Here are 10 reasons why:
LeBron James
Two-time reigning MVP LeBron James is one of the big reasons that will enable Heat to overshadow the Sixers comprehensively. It’s very rare for a team to gain any sort of momentum when the
vigorous forward is in his groove. James’ formidable allure imposes a deniable pre-game impact on the opposition. And then when it comes to his brilliance on the court, he is as rare and gifted a specimen as the legendary Michael Jordan.
The most dominating aspect of James is his drive to win the NBA title, more than any other player in the league. Despite of having the league’s best record last year, James and the Cleveland
Cavaliers failed to advance to the NBA finals, which prompted his departure from Cleveland. James arrival at Miami Heat this season was followed a huge uproar from the fans, who once regarded him as an idol. In fact, James effectively became the number one
villain of NBA and was booed on every arena of the league, except his own.
Now, he has an opportunity to strike back and prove to himself and his fans that his decision to take his talents to the South Beach was right. And the two times reigning MVP is rearing to
make it happen. “Inspiration and motivation. Two words that describe it for me.”
Dwyane Wade
Wade is undoubtedly the best shooting-guard in the league and is expected to be another big reason for the Heat’s success. He propels fireworks on the front court and at the same time supports
the defence massively. Comparing his performance against the Sixers, Wade posted a blistering game-high 39 points, gathered 11 rebounds and dished out eight assists in their last meeting.
The reason Dwyane thrives outstandingly against the Sixers is because they don’t have a sturdy defense to restrict the formidable play of the superstar. Wade’s incredible ability to dominate
the opposition with his flawless shooting makes every team struggle.
And above all, Wade has a promise to fulfil; one he made last year with his fans to race away to the NBA finals and win the championship title. “I’m always thinking about that,” Dwyane said
on Friday.
Chris Bosh vs. Elton Brand
The Sixers will be massively relying on their star forward Elton Brand. Brand is averaging 15.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this season and has the ability to perform well in the big games
against some the best teams of the league. However, Miami have the means to counter him in the shape of Chris Bosh. Bosh has an edge over Brand with regards to both speed and agility. With a height of 6ft-11in, Bosh moves on the court with great speed and
is one of the best rebounders in the Heat outfit.
