NBA Preseason, Charlotte Bobcats overpower Miami Heat 102-96
One of the most exciting games of the NBA preseason saw the Charlotte Bobcats play the Miami Heat at the American Airlines Arena this Monday. The match took place in front of around 15,500 fans as the Miami Heat was looking to win the game after their inconsistent
form thus far.
1st Quarter
During the course of the 1st quarter, the Charlotte Bobcats was the team that turned out to be the standout performer as they dominated the play but it was the Miami Heat that led by one point at the end. Both Chris Bosh and LeBron James came
up with splendid plays and the crowd witnessed them score through furious slam dunks.
The Miami Heat dominated the play as the quarter neared the end. Both teams put on quite a show and thoroughly entertained the crowd. During the 1st quarter, the Miami Heat scored 28 points out of James scored 12 points and Chris Bosh managed
to score 8 points.
The Charlotte Bobcats on the other hand opened their account as they scored the first points of the quarter through Nazr Mohammed. Mohammed and DJ Augustin combined during the period to keep the Charlotte Bobcats in touch with the Miami Heat. For the Charlotte
Bobcats, it was Augustin, who scored 8 points for the Bobcats with a few contributions from other players as well.
The quarter ended with the Miami Heat leading the score 28-27.
2nd Quarter
When the 2nd quarter started, it was the Miami Heat, who came out to be on top when they bagged a three pointer early on to kick off the quarter. They not scored points early on but restricted the Charlotte Bobcats to almost nothing during the
early part of the quarter.
The Miami Heat and Charlotte Bobcats took their feet off the gas due to which there were less points scored during the 2nd quarter. One of the splendid plays saw a shot from Chris Bosh that missed and came to LeBron James after which the player
shot an extravagant shot to bag his 1st three pointer of the match. When the period ended, the Miami Heat was able to open up a gap with the score on 49-44 in their favour. LeBron James went into the halftime bagging 17 points.
The Charlotte Bobcats on the other hand worked hard to keep pace with the Miami Heat and succeeded in doing so, being only 5 points behind them. Mohammed and Augustin continued to combine during the 2nd quarter as well bagging 10 and 13 points
respectively.
3rd Quarter
The 3rd quarter was again a Miami Heat dominated period that saw the Heat start off the scoring when they scored through Chris Bosh, who scored through an extravagant reverse dunk.
The quarter saw the big two of the Miami Heat take on the Charlotte Bobcats defence and tore past it. The period ended with the score 80-71 in favour of the Heat. LeBron James finished the night after he scored 33 points and Chris Bosh also impressed many
as he ended the quarter with a total of 14 points.
The Charlotte Bobcats story was no different from the previous 2 quarter as Mohammed and Augutin took their personal scores to 14 and 16 respectively as their team was trailing. During the 3rd quarter, the Miami Heat scored 31 points and the Charlotte
Bobcats scored 27 points that promised us an exciting 4th quarter.
4th Quarter
With the big two substituted, the Miami Heat didn’t score as many points in the quarter, as the Bobcats passed them to win the match.
With small contributions from players, the Miami Heat just scored 16 points during the course of the final quarter as they ended the night on 96 points.
The Charlotte Bobcats saw Derrick Brown come out on top of his game and end the night with 18 points that played a major role in Miami Heat’s defeat. DJ Augustin also scored a couple of points to end the night on 19 points as the Bobcats scored 31 points
in the quarter compared to 16 from the Heat, to clinch the match 102-96.
