NBA Preseason – Moscow CSKA taste defeat at the hands of Miami Heat by 11 points (final score 96-85)
The Moscow CSKA was up against the Miami Heat as part of the NBA preseason. Moscow CSKA is a good side that has a lot of talent and has given teams like the Los Angeles Lakers scares in the past. This match took place in the American Airlines Arena, home
of the Miami Heat in Florida. There were around 18,000 fans present to cheer their team and King James to a win.
1st Quarter
Though the Miami Heat were the 1st to score in the period through Chris Bosh, after this they couldn’t score for almost 2 minutes. Eventually when they did score, it was Chris Bosh again who scored from a jump shot. The Miami Heat formed a tough
defence that didn’t let the opposing player slip into their Dee.
For the Miami Heat, it was Chris Bosh who ended scoring 6 points in the quarter and LeBron James scored 3 points in the quarter. The Miami Heat scored 16 points and the Moscow CSKA scored 22 points. With no player being the standout performer for the away
team, the Moscow CSKA saw points coming from all the players.
2nd Quarter
The 2nd quarter was a close battle between the 2 teams as the Moscow CSKA scored 22 points in the quarter and the Miami Heat also scored 23 points in the quarter.
For the Moscow CSKA, Siskaukas scored 11 points in the quarter. Langdon also scored 13 points in the quarter. Both the players combined to put their team in the lead. For the Miami Heat, the LeBron James performed and scored few points in the quarter. LeBron
finished the period scoring 11 points with the Heat trailing by 5 points. Udonis Haslem was also among the scorers in the 2nd period and scored 5 points in the quarter.
The quarter ended with the score on 39-44 in favour of the Moscow CSKA.
3rd Quarter
The 3rd quarter saw the Miami Heat turn the tables and outplaying their opponents. Not only did the Heat step up their game, but LeBron James also took the Moscow defence on.
Chris Bosh also came up with a couple of points and a few assists that helped the Miami Heat gain ground on the Moscow CSKA. Chris Bosh scored from an excellent jump shot that the Heat in the lead and scored once again from the same position to end the quarter
with 13 points.
LeBron James was the star player of the quarter as he went past the defence with any trouble at all. Scoring off balance, in air and from almost everywhere, LeBron scored 22 points before he was substituted after sustaining a hamstring injury. He was replaced
by Patrick Beverley who also scored 6 points when the quarter ended.
During the quarter, the Miami Heat scored 30 points and the Moscow CSKA scored 20 points with the overall score 71-64 in favour of the Miami Heat.
4th Quarter
The last quarter of the match didn’t see much happening as the Miami Heat scored 25 points in the last 12 points. The Moscow CSKA scored 21 points that were not enough as they lost the match.
The productive players for the Moscow CSKA during the quarter were Gordon who finished with 17 points, Smodis who scored 11 points and Sokolov who also came up with 5 points in the quarter. For the Miami Heat, it was Chris Bosh who was the stand out player
in the quarter as he ended his night scoring 17 points.
Among other players who scored for the Miami Heat were Udonis Haslem who scored 9 points and Hasbrouck who ended his night with 12 points.
The Miami Heat won the match 96-85 as 2 of the big three players in LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were on the bench injured. LeBron James was the top scorer of the match as he bagged 22 points in the game while playing for 26 minutes.
