NBA Preseason Update – Chicago Bulls disappointed with a loss against Milwaukee Bucks 83-92
One of the most awaited teams to play in the preseason was the Chicago Bulls. With the addition of players like Carlos Boozer and some old players like Derrick Rose, the charismatic NBA fans were hoping for something really exciting, as the rivals were given
chances of winning the NBA title.
However, this was not to be as the Milwaukee Bucks came up with an extravagant performance and won the match 92-83. The start of the play saw Carlos Boozer not playing due to a broken hand.
1st Quarter
The first few minutes of the quarter were seen to be on the slower side with the Chicago Bulls and the Milwaukee Bucks losing the ball often. Though the attacks made were very effective, they didn’t have the final touch.
Drew Gooden scored most of the points during the course of the period for the Bucks. Though the Chicago Bulls were able to score a few points early on but couldn’t manage to back the start and then slowed down. At the end of the quarter, the Chicago Bulls
were trailing the Milwaukee Bucks 16-21.
Larry Sanders and Luc Mbah were almost among the players in the Bucks who managed to score during the quarter. Some analysts saw this as no surprise as Bulls were playing like last season and Carlos Boozer missing meant they didn’t have the extra thing that
would help them in their road to success.
2nd Quarter
During the 2nd quarter, the Chicago Bulls dominated the play as they were the only team who managed to score during the first 3 minutes of the quarter.
Kyle Korver led the attack for Bulls and also delivered the ball to players in open position that resulted in some retaliation to the Milwaukee Bucks attack. The Milwaukee Bucks, on the other hand, were able to score most of the time through the splendid
efforts of Douglas-Roberts. Roberts was another player in the match who was not only able to score for the team on a regular basis but also gave his teammates chances from open positions.
At the end of the 2nd quarter, the Milwaukee Bucks were in the lead with the score 39-42 in their favour. During the course of the 2nd quarter, the Bucks were able to bag 21 points and the Chicago Bulls scored 23 points.
3rd Quarter
The 3rd quarter started in a spectacular way when the Chicago Bulls scored through Joakim Noah dunk.
During the course of this quarter both teams were looking not only to come up with strong offence but also were looking to stay strong on the defence. This game turned into a very right encounter as the 3 point gap between the two teams was cut down to just
1 point at the end. The Bucks were in the lead at the end with the score on 63-62 in favour of the Milwaukee Bucks.
The commendable performer of the quarter was Dooling of the Bucks, who scored a few points and came up with quite a lot assists.
4th Quarter
The 4th quarter was the turning point of the match, as the Milwaukee Bucks maintained a good tight and healthy defence. Not only this, they attacked on regular basis and most of the times scored.
During the 4th quarter, the Bucks scored regularly, whereas the Chicago Bulls scored only occasionally. The scoring came through Kyle Korver, who understood the situation and approached the game with the right attitude.
However, this was not enough as the Chicago Bulls lost the match at end with the score on 92-83. This was a splendid performance by a team that is said to be among the weak teams in the league this season. What was most appreciable was the fact that in a
clash of the big against the small, the Milwaukee Bucks displayed nerves of steel.
