Preview in a fairy tale
The New York Knicks proved to be the aggressive princes as they reduced the Detroit Pistons 125-116 on Sunday. The Knicks will contest the same challenge upon the New Jersey nets at Tuesday night in a different venue, this time at the Madison Square
Garden at New York.
The Knicks have finally moved back to their .500 because of their recent road victory. New York will look forward to clinch a grand victory against the New Jersey Nets to grab a good win.
The New York Knicks need to be careful because they haven’t yet faced tough competitions. Beating meagre teams does not mean that they have actually killed the beast who owns that palace they are aiming for perched on the sky. They need to improve their
wit and shooting to strangle the beast or else he may devour them alive.
Raymond Felton had stomach flu but he managed to play even in that condition like a good boy. He put on a firm resolve and played a brave game and scored 23 points and 11 assists against the Pistons.
“We are just showing the sort of composure that we have and that we are growing since day one," he said later. "If we continue to play that way and get better at home, I think that we will be okay this season.”
The Knicks have an average of seven points per game that is more than their average at home.
Amare Stoudemire was shooting for the moon with his 37 points and as he grabbed 15 rebounds he eventually landed on the stars. He sealed a perfect stamp on Orion’s Belt as he gave seven assists. Perfect!
Mike D’Antoni, the proud coach later remarked, “Just his persona and his aura is really good... It's not about making mistakes or missing last shots, you're always going to do that, but just being there with the guys every second is huge.”
They are holding this torch and are looking forward to lighting their path over to the Madison Square Garden. They faced a loss 99-90 to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday who snatched away their five-game winning streak in a quick snatch of their sharp claws.
The Knicks have to polish their armour and shields because they lost against the Hawks. Knicks knew that they were going to face a hard time because the Hawks are the real beast. They are the only team that has a winning record.
Felton is now the prince who has learnt shooting the basketball as well as defending his team. He has average of career high 18.1 points and 15.0 at home. Danillo Gallinari is perfecting his skills with an average of 11.9 points at MSG and is making 23.3
percent from a 3 point range as compared to 18.1 points and 43.1 percent on the road.
The Nets might give the Knicks a better chance to improve their home record as they have lost five straight games and are just 6-11.
Devin Harris has an average of 22.8 points in his last four games after a stretch of four games. In the game on Sunday he shot 7 of 12 and dished out seven assists. The unfathomable Harris had scored 31 points the last time they stood in battle against the
Knicks. So dear Knicks, better keep an eye on the 27 year old.
Since this is the first time this season that they will face each other so who will come out winner, only time will tell.
