NBA Recap: Milwaukee Bucks beat Toronto Raptors 116-110 in overtime
The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Toronto Raptors 116-110 in overtime, on Friday at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The Raptors are on a 10-game losing streak.
The Bucks went 4-for-4 from the floor in overtime and took all the shots that came their way. The Raptors could only hit 3-for-9 shot attempts.
The Raptors tied the game at 104 to force overtime. Andrew Bogut stepped up for the Bucks as he made all three of his shots to go six points up with less than three minutes in the game. Corey Maggette scored a three pointer, handing the Raptors their 10th
straight defeat of the 2010-11 season.
Milwaukee took complete charge of the game in the very beginning of the overtime to surge over the Raptors.
The Toronto Raptors shot 46.7 per cent from the field and were just 10 per cent in three-pointers. They went a whopping 82.1 per cent in free throws outscoring the winning team. The Raptors grabbed nine team rebounds in the loss.
Amir Johnson scored a team-high 24 points with 12 rebounds to clinch a double-double for the Raptors. Andrea Bargnani added 23 points as Jose Calderon also managed a double-double as the guard posted 13 points and dished out 10 assists for the losing team.
The Bucks shot 55.3 per cent in the win. They were 40 per cent in three-pointers and went 74.3 per cent from the free throw line. The team grabbed eight team rebounds. The Bucks took the biggest lead with 10 points shooting 46 points from the paint compared
to the Raptors 42 points.
Forward Corey Maggette scored a double-double as he shot 29 points along with 11 rebounds and Ersan Ilyasova tied his career-high 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Andrew Bogut added with 24 points and seven rebounds and two assists.
The Bucks gave up 16 turnovers compared to 12 by the Raptors. Toronto managed 19 fast break points to Milwaukee’s 10.
“We should have never been in that situation,” Maggette said. “Turnovers starting with myself. I had two careless turnovers around the three and four minute mark that put us in the position where they got a little run. We continued to fight, Bogut made
some big plays down the stretch and in overtime.”
