Play to the crowd
The Portland Trail Blazers are athletic by nature. They are Long and competent on defence. They block shots of opponent. They block out the middle. They are unpredictable in simple words. It was Portland’s second consecutive win against Suns in a single
week.
It was a noble play for the visiting team, and with this victory, the team earned 12th victory of the season.
"We were running on fumes that whole time. Phoenix really wanted this game needed this game and our guys responded." -- Blazers coach Nate McMillan.
Playing the first quarter back-and-forth, Portland had a 28-22 lead.
With the clock running down, Matthews of Portland added 14 in the second quarter on 5-of-5 from the field that boost Trail Blazers by 56-45. The Suns trimmed the margin to 61-53 heading in to the first half of the game.
Aldridge made two from the line to put the Blazers up 73-61. Later on, he further extended Portland’s lead to 14 points with the help of thundering dunk.
In the opening minute of the final quarter, Aldridge missed free throw and Dante Cunningham took a full advantage of it and put up Blazers by 17, 90-73 - their largest of the game. However, with 2:09 to go, Phoenix responded with a 15-4 run to make it a
two-possession game.
With 26.7 seconds left, Nash saw a driving layup fall to make the score respectable one, but once again the Suns were been forced to foul, and Miller made two from the line at Portland’s end to put the game at 101-92.
"We've got to get our confidence back and understand we're a good team.” -- Suns coach Alvin Gentry.
Crowning Point
Trailing 94-88, the Suns were been awarded the ball following a rebound under the Blazer’s basket. However, Nash threw the ball away driving the baseline on the ensuing possession and Roy followed him with a 15-foot jumper as the shot clock expired to make
it 96-88 and end Phoenix's last-gasp rally attempt.
Unfruitful Attempt
Phoenix Suns limited the Trail Blazers to 4-for-18 shooting in the fourth quarter, but the Suns' own offense was not up to the mark as it prevented them from pulling any closer than six points down the stretch.
Brandon Roy- - Happy-Go-Lucky
What sore knee? Brandon Roy of Blazers did not seem bothered at all by any Knee issues, going for highest points of the game and best of all, zero turnovers. Other than that, Roy was 8-for-13 over the first three quarters and two field goals in the fourth
quarter.
Never Mind Jared Dudley
Jared Dudley of Phoenix Suns was been pictured on the game program throwing down a dunk. His teammate Richardson taped a copy of the program to Dudley's locker with a note that read,
"Photoshopped?” Dudley took it easily as merrymaking is a part of game.
Out-of-Towner
Phoenix Sun’s Ring of Honour member and the current Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson has a good time sitting courtside near the Phoenix tunnel.
