NBA Review: San Antonio Spurs Tame Minnesota Timberwolves
13,117 basketball followers, at the Target Centre, witnessed an epic clash between San Antonio Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was a neck to neck battle, as Spurs humbled the Wolves 113-109. Astonishingly, the Spurs did not edge ahead in the game, till half time, but still managed to materialize a win.
Outstanding Players
For the Spurs, Manu Ginobli bagged 26 points, seized 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Richard Jefferson and Tony Parker scored 19 had 18 points respectively. From the Timberwolves camp, Kevin Love bagged 32 points and 22 rebounds followed by Darko Milicic who grabbed 22 points, eight rebounds and five blocks.

Timberwolves initiated the opening quarter with jaw-dropping dribbling and precision shooting. They concluded the 1st quarter 33-18.The rest of the two quarters were one-sided as-well, with Wolves leading the game, 82-71. However, all h**l broke loose for the Wolves, as the Spurs came back super strong and managed to bag a victory.
Decisive Stage of the Match
Gary Neal, of the Spurs, was fouled by Timberwolves Wes Jhonson. This costly error, with only 16 seconds remaining to play, allowed Neal to bag all three free throws and equalizing the score 106-106.
Frontcourt’s Function
Even though the Timberwolves lost, it was evident that their frontcourt was much superior to their rivals. Love bagged 32 points and seized 22 rebounds whereas Milicic achieved
22 points, snatched eight rebounds and blocked five shots. From San Antonio Spurs, Tim Duncan and DeJuan Blair to bag only 12 points.
