New Jersey Nets 88 – Boston Celtics 79
After a span of three years, New Jersey Nets finally managed to extend their winning streak to five games as they hounded the Boston Celtics 88-79 at Prudential Center on Monday night. Spurred on by a sell-out crowd, four of the
five Nets starters notched up double figures as they avoided a season series clean sweep. The Celtics Big 3, on the other hand endured their first loss in New Jersey.
Brook Lopez landed a game-high 20 and Deron Williams clinched 16 points and 9 assists to outshine Celtics for the first time at their home court since April 16, 2006.
Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis and Ray Allen combined for 53 points. Their formidable exertion though was comprehensively subjugated by the Nets. The third defeat in four games for Boston cropped up an interesting situation as Celtics
drops down in a tie with Chicago for the best record in Eastern Conference.
It was truly an impressive scoring night for the Nets with their five players reaching in double figures. The visiting team managed to grab 2 points advantage in the first half however they were entirely subjugated by New Jersey
after halftime. The Nets romped with 13-1 run that bridged the closing moments of the third and opening minutes of the final quarter, one which was the decisive point of the game.
New Jersey sustained their momentum till the final buzzer seal a marvelous win.
Oklahoma City Thunder 116 – Washington Wizards 89
NBA’s leading scorer Kevin Durant clinched a game-high 32 points in a 116-89 nosh-up victory over the lowly Washington Wizards at Verizon Center.
The highlight of the night was Kendrick Perkins who finally made his first appearance as a Thunder after missing nine games with sprained ankle. The veteran center Perkins who was acquired from Boston Celtics in a surprise trade
scored 6 points and 9 rebounds in 20 minutes.
The Wizards were utterly routed in all of the four quarter of the game as they couldn’t stand against the unshakable strength of Oklahoma City. Trevor Booker was the top performer for Washington. He procured a double-double with
14 points and 13 rebounds. JaVale McGee and John Wall also scored 14 points apiece as their exertion was well short against the offensive power of the visiting team.
Oklahoma City sealed 21 points advantage in the first half thrashing the home team out of the game comprehensively. Russell Westbrook joined the action with the start power Durant and landed 18 points and 12 assists. Daequan Cook
landed six three-pointers for his 18 points. The Thunders continued their domination in the second half leaving few options for the Wizards to gain any sort of momentum. Oklahoma City buried four scorching 3-pointers in the final period to seize an effortless
victory 116-89 in the end.
Miami Heat 110- San Antonio Spurs 80.
Chris Bosh’s blistering 30 points and 12 rebounds supplied an outstanding victory 110-80 to Miami Heat over the League’s top team San Antonio Spurs. The comprehensive win was seemingly a strapping response from the Heat to avenge
their worst loss of the season 125 95 to the Spurs on March 4.
Dwayne Wade carried the action with 29 points to keep his line-up on the frontline while Lebron James ruptured in the second half of the game scoring 21 points.
Tony Parker and Tim Duncan combined for 32 for San Antonio as the rest of the line-up struggled throughout against the hefty strength of the superstar trio. The night was entirely subjugated by Miami leaving few options for NBA-Best
Spurs to surpass.
San Antonio managed to grab an early advantage 10-6 in the preliminary moments of the game as they were overshadowed utterly later on. Miami heat kept their momentum intact throughout the night and entered the final quarter of
the game with 77-63 lead. Heat completely outscored Spurs in the final quarter with 33-17 run to lock away any kind of doubts that were remaining in the Miami’s magnificent victory.
