Dallas Mavericks 112 - Los Angeles Clippers 105
Four Mavericks scored at least 20 points as the Dallas downed the visiting Los Angeles Clippers 112-105 on Tuesday night at American Airlines Center.
Mavericks reserve shooting guard Jason Terry erupted with game-high 28 points while backup point guard Jose Barea scored 25 points. Tyson Chandler and Dirk Nowitzki also posted 21 and 20 points respectively for Dallas, who have
won two straight and three of their last four.
Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Baron Davis hit four 3-pointers and finished with 21 points for Los Angeles, who have lost two of three as well as three straight on the road. Randy Foye
also had 15 points for the visitors.
The Clippers dominated the first two quarters, taking a 62-54 lead into the locker room.
In the third quarter, the Clippers led by 69-58 at the 9:49 mark. Dallas held the Clippers without scoreless for more than three minutes to crawl back within five. Clippers point guard Baron Davis hit a 3-pointer at the 5:05 mark
to break the jinx. However, the Clippers did not make another field goal till the very last seconds as Dallas closed the quarter with an 81-78 advantage.
Dallas’s prolific shooting early in the fourth, swept away any chance the Clippers had to regain momentum. Barea's 3-pointer with 10:10 remaining made it 89-81. Minutes later, Dirk Nowitzki's shot from behind the arc, gave Dallas
its first double-digit advantage, 98-86. The Clipper never managed to come within ten after that.
Charlotte Bobcats 94 - Sacramento Kings 89
The Charlotte Bobcats opened their six-game West Coast road trip with an impressive 94-89 victory against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night at ARCO Arena.
Stephen Jackson led all scorers with 21 points. Kwame Brown had a season-high 18 rebounds for Charlotte, who won their eighteenth game of the season.
Bobcats head coach Paul Silas said, "This one kind of sets the tone for us. The guys know that they can win out here and that's the main thing. They have not won too many games on the road but this was critical for us to win this
one. Now, they are upbeat."
Gerald Wallace scored 19 points while D.J. Augustin added 16 for the Bobcats, who have won the third in the previous four games.
Tyreke Evans and Carl Landry contributed 19 points apiece for Sacramento, who shot just 36 percent from the field. Jason Thompson also scored 14 points for the Kings, who have dropped five of their last six games.
The Bobcats started brightly and were leading by 52-42 at the end of the first half.
The Kings seemed lethargic throughout the third quarter, allowing the Bobcats to widen their lead at a 76-67. After trailing by as many as 14 points deep in the third, the Kings fought back to make it a three-point game at 79-76
with just over eight minutes left in the game. However Bobcats hung tough and never let Sacramento get any closer.
