NBA Roundup– Memphis Grizzlies Trudge Miami Heat
18,000 basketball enthusiasts witnessed an extremely close encounter between Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat. The nail-biter encounter lasted for 136 minutes, being equalized 12 times and the lead changing hands for a substantial 20 times. From the 1st quarter, it was obvious that the Grizzlies were a notch above their rivals. They initiated the game with full steam and started scoring immediately, unlike their rivals who took some- time to get into their groove. By the end of the opening quarter, Grizzlies scored 26 points, thanks to their ace shooter Darrell Arthur, who chipped-in with an outstanding 12 points. On the other hand, the Heats could only manage to attain 17 points, courtesy LeBron James, who scored 6 and 2 points respectively.
In the 2nd quarter, Miami heat showed some of their trademark basketball skills while bagging 22 points. They outplayed and out-maneuvered the Grizzlies allowing them to attain only 17 points. Despite all their heroics, the Heats could not edge past the Grizzlies who led the game 43-39 by the end of the 2nd quarter. The 3rd quarter also belonged to Miami Heat as they bagged 29 points, as compared to their rivals who scored 25 points. By the end of the quarter the score was, astonishingly, leveled at 68-68.
The final quarter was the most exciting phase of the game as both teams tried their level best to out-play and out-smart one another. However, it was Memphis Grizzlies who had the upper hand, as they put early pressure on their rivals and managed to win the game 97-95. It was a hard fought victory for the Grizzlies, who had immense help from their star player, Zach Randolph, who scored 21 points. Miami Heat's ace shooter, LeBron James was the highest scorer of the game with 29 points.
